Video Switch: Route video from multiple sources to a single display

Video from multiple sources can be displayed on a single display device with the help of a video switch. Available in many different models with all models varying according to the type of video signals supported, these devices have the ability to provide high resolution signals. Of the various models available, the most popular ones are the VGA, DVI Video, HDMI, Composite, Cat5 Audio Video and the video matrix switches. Latest models are also available with optional audio. Image quality and clarity is maintained and it appears as though each source is individually connected to the display device. Input ports can range between 2, 4, 8 or 16 and if more than sixteen sources need to be connected, a user can daisy chain these switches.

Also known as a video switcher, this unit works on simple plug and play functionality and does not require any additional device drivers for operation. Switching between various sources of video can be done using front panel push buttons, infra red remote control and RS232. Since switching is passive, there is no requirement of external power or batteries. Hot pluggable, a user can either add or remove the source devices without powering down the unit. Compatible with PCs, MACs and SUNs with VGA video and multi sync SVGA, VGA and XGA monitors, they support the DDC1, DDCS, DDC2B, DDC2B+ and DDC2AB protocols.

Other key features of these video switchers are the ability to auto skip over power off, a computer in suspended mode or an unplugged VGA cable. Equipped with regulatory approvals from CE, FCC and RoHS, these devices can be combined with a video splitter to form a video matrix switch. The latter is capable of routing video from multiple sources to multiple displays, creating a matrix pattern of interconnection possibilities. These router units can also be controlled via TCP/IP and are available in models supporting different types of video signals.

A perfect solution for places where information from many sources needs to be displayed on a single display, the video switch is widely used in educational and financial institutions, airports, bus and train terminals, hospitals, information kiosks, digital signage applications, corporate offices and boardrooms etc.

Re: Do bigger monitors save time? Re: Do bigger monitors save time? - I'm not sure how much bigger monitors save time but my experience with multiple montiors has been great. Using two monitors allows for the most used applications to be readily available on your screens and saves you from constantly opening and closing windows. As well, when working on very long spreedsheets, it's great to be able to expand the page over both monitors, in order to see all the columns, without scrolling. To use two monitors, you might have to upgrade your video card but it's not too expensive and well worth it. Most new laptops will allow you to use a second monitor in addition to the laptop display, and this is usually quite easy to set up through display properties.
Re: Social Bookmarking Site List Re: Social Bookmarking Site List - Useful list of social bookmarking sites. Using OnlyWire.com you could list your pages in multiple bookmarking sites from a single place. But recently, I stopped listing my URL's to multiple bookmarking sites (left it to happen naturally), lets see !!! Thanks, Mr.Ven
Re: How can I promote my site? Re: How can I promote my site? - What's the URL? That's one way of promoting your site - you'll get a back link from here. Also, since it a video sharing site why not promote to your target market with video and distribute it among the other Video Sharing sites? my 2 cents... Andy
Re: Article in the Business Section of LoveToKnow.com Re: Article in the Business Section of LoveToKnow.com - I love it when people talk about possibilities! You have a lot of great ideas, Shri. It sounds like you're really expanding into multiple sources of income. Now the key is in adding those that can bring you income while you're sleeping (or down at the beach reading a good book!) That's one of the things I'm working on.
Re: Best Internet Marketing Strategies Re: Best Internet Marketing Strategies - It's funny to come across the phrase "don't put all your eggs in one basket" on the first thread I check out - after seeing the exact phrase on a blog about Squidoo's policy changes last year. If you rely on a single strategy - such as, for example, building multiple Squidoo lenses about your affiliate programs, you are effectively at the mercy of the managers of Squidoo. They brought in a much stricter policy about links and spam last year, a lot of lenses were shut down. Even with web hosting it probably makes sense not to rely on a single website or a single web host. What are members' thoughts on the number of marketing methods to employ, and in what percentages? In my case, for one of my games sites, it would be approximately: 1. Website seo, keywords and unique content 40% 2. Blog 25% 3. Forum 15% 4. Article marketing 10% 5. Squidoo 5% 6. Twitter & Facebook 4% 7. Broadcasting to my list - 1% (This needs to be built up...)
