When to Consider Redoing Your Website Design?

There are numerous web design companies in Sydney and abroad that recommend you to redesign your website. However, you shouldn’t redesign your website for the sake of redesigning. Before you consider redoing your website design, you must have answers to the following questions:

1) Does your website take more than 10 seconds to load?

2) Is the content on your website the same as it was at its launch?

3) Do your site visitors come to your site and don’t take any positive action?

4) Is your website compatible on only a few browsers?

If you answer in a positive to the above mentioned questions, it’s time to work on the web design again and create a website that can give a strong competition to others.

An average web user has a short attention span and loses interest in a site if it takes longer to load. Moreover, every website must have recent content that talks about the company’s latest works, developments and new product additions. This is necessary because no one wants to know more about what you were 2 years back; they just want to know what you have to offer now. In the absence of a proper call to action in the web design as well, the visitor would be left perplexed as to how to contact you and take a positive action like signing for a subscription or a newsletter or emailing you.

In order to avail complete benefits of your website and make it work as an extended business arm for your company, you can take help from the below mentioned tips on website redesigning:

Adopt a slow and easy approach- Don’t get too ambitious with your website redesign project because it is a big decision and any mistake would take your website back to where it was before. Once you have ascertained the reasons for redoing your website design, you should take small steps so that your visitors don’t get annoyed by sudden and drastic change in your site. Step-by-step efforts would allow visitors to adapt to those changes. For instance- Facebook, since its launch, has modified itself gradually, without annoying the visitors.

Make your visitors aware about your website redesign- Before you begin the redesign process, you must communicate to your visitors about your plans of redoing the design. When links are moved, content is re-written or a particular click path has been changed, visitors tend to get upset and confused. So you must ensure that they are aware of your redesign plans.

Ascertain your website redesign strategy and stick to it- Having a proper strategy for your new website is imperative. It helps you achieve your goals and objectives by simplifying the way you communicate with your visitors. A proper strategy allows you to implement your ideas into the design and achieve beyond your expectations.

Improve your site’s load speed- Most of the site visitors get turned off by a slow website. Their attention deviates to a faster website that has to offer similar products. So the most important area of your website should be its load speed.

Integrate SEO factors in the website design- Ruling the search engines through a top ranking becomes a major contributing factor in your website’s success. If you think that your website has everything that the users would like and yet it is not performing, then probably the reason for low performance is absence of SEO strategy.

Keep user interest at the centre of the web design-Your website is not for your personal use. It represents your business to a global audience in the online environment and it is vital to design for your customers and not for yourself. Survey about the user experience, their preferences and what they would like to see on your website. By keeping the user interest your priority in the website design, you can improve the user experience to a great extent- giving them a reason to contact you and purchase your products/services.

You can hire a professional web design agency for your Sydney business and make your website work as an integral part of your marketing strategy.

Managing Your Website Managing Your Website - Hi Beat I know what you are talking about when you say it could be a frustrating experience. I would recommend to every business owner to find a website partner who can handle the Website Design/SEO/Hosting by themselves while still at a reasonable cost to your business. This is the most economical way to operate the online side of your business if you are unsure about it. I actually do this for a few clients myself and all I do is send them a bill every year for hosting/seo but if there are any problems its up to me to call the hosting company to find out what's wrong as well as keep them high ranking for particular keywords. If anyone else has found it difficult with their website, hosting or the management of any online services please post your feedback here and I'll try to advise your best option.

What if the business a startup is trying to launch is completely an online venture? Wouldn't it be more practical (and cost efficient, especially in the long run) for that entrepreneur to learn how to create or at least update his/her own website? In fact, a lot of times, I hear how startups tend to give too many shares of the company to their partnering web designer, only to regret it later. How much should one give?
