Learning from the Most Visited Websites

Creating a website requires more than a vision. The designer should be able to create a site using the proper tools and with one intention in mind - to be able to bring as much profits as possible. For the starter, what are his options? First, he can build from "zero" - from the ground up. Using a website builder, he can create a brilliant site with less trouble. The only downside here is that there is no design inspiration or previous design to which the designer or website owner based his creation. Second, he can also check out what is cool and brilliant with the established and the most visited websites. The question is - what makes these websites very popular? Understanding the success of the most visited websites can very well help the website designer or the website owner set up his own website in a very objective manner. We are not suggesting that the website owner copies everything from the successful website. We are merely stating that website owners should at least cherry pick the best website part from the popular site and incorporate the same on his site. Here are some tips.

First, one should look at the color schemes of the popular and most visited sites in the web. Sometimes, the color scheme of a website, a company logo or even a newspaper item is what we need to bring our website to prominence. When one thinks of yellow lines surrounded by red, he might think of McDonalds. When one thinks of a white lady surrounded by green colors, he might think of the popular coffee shop Starbucks. The same is true with website design. Yahoo, Amazon, Forbes, eBay and the like are some of the sites which are considered as brilliant in their website color scheme. In fact, the colors blue and white are no longer commonly associated with Finland and Argentina but Forbes.com. If you want to visit a list of the best website designs of the past few years, please check out the website of Time Magazine (time.com). The opening statement goes - we honor the newcomers and established players that make the Web so useful, entertaining and just plain indispensable. Of course, newcomers did not just simply create a site out of thin air because some might have gotten inspirations or ideas from the more established and the more visited websites.

Second, studying the website renovation patterns of the popular sites is one way to when to renovate. To give you an idea, we suggest that you check out the progressive images of the site (the beginning site to its latest). Also, you better note when the site was created, renovated, and improved. You should also study the potential impact of competition on the design of the sites. According to a contributor at worldbestwebsites.com, this competition seeks to attract designers and programmers who are "redefining standards of website excellence and challenging existing paradigms of world best practice in internet communications".

Third, the website owner should also study the search engine optimization strategies applied by the successful websites. Check out the sites where they are mentioned. Check out how they position their contents. While numerous blog sites of so-called search engine optimization experts espouse numerous theories about proper SEO, the best tips can be seen through the SEO techniques applied by the successful sites.

Boldest Entrepreneur Moves of All Time = Christopher Columbus: "... he saw the possibility of treasure and commerce where others saw only danger. He committed so wholeheartedly to that vision that not even dozens of rejections and ongoing penury could dissuade him from pursuing a journey to Asia via the West. He built on his technical strengths as a seaman to plan a viable journey and eventually marshal an expedition." - Christopher Hoenig, 6 Essential Secrets for Thinking on a New Level I bought Hoenig's book about 10 years ago but couldn't make head or tail of it then... reading it now and finding it inspirational... 2. Re: Re-Branding and Re-tooling Re: Re-Branding and Re-tooling - Dear coopadventures.com Sounds like you are on the right track. Websites and advertising go hand in hand. A great website can be built in 20 min. It can be like a great restaurant in the desert with no roads leading to it. A website must get traffic to turn a profit.
