Smart Women Can Be Action Figures Too!

Article Overview: I find it fascinating when children place stickers of their favorite action hero on their bodies. They instantly become their idea of what that action figure represents to them. They truly believe that they are that person. This article is about developing a mindset that you, too, can become or accomplish any dream or goal that you envision. It’s about allowing your imagination to soar with ideas about what you want to accomplish in your life and how you want to show up authentically in the world.

Smart Women Can Be Action Figures Too!

In my Success Circles, women create vision boards which represent their big ideas, dreams and plans for living a life filled with energy, passion and purpose. I invite them to bring in favorite photos or magazines they enjoy reading, as possibilities for their board. This week, Dawn, a Circle member (and smart woman) brought in “The Big Book of Action Stickers.” It was a big colorful book filled with stickers for just about everything you can imagine from animals to people. As I flipped through the pages, it got me thinking about how simple it is to become who you want to be in the world.

Have you ever watched a child take an action sticker and place it somewhere on their body? They instantly become their version of who that sticker represents to them. When my daughter puts on a “Batman” sticker, you better believe that she is Batman. Same thing with Spider-Man (for those of you who know Jenna---she is not going to put on a Cinderella sticker!) Children have this incredible imagination that they can become anything they choose. My son Jack, will tell you with great confidence that he is going to be both a professional baseball and basketball player. You may be reading this and thinking, “Oh well, children have such a big imagination.” Yes, they certainly do.

How about you? Do you have a big imagination? Is there something that you would like to create in your life but you just can’t seem to get your arms around it? Do you need an Action Sticker with your Action Figure on it to create that excitement within you to do something bold and daring? Are you living your life each day authentically? Becoming who you really want to be in this life---accomplishing any sort of goal really is just a decision. It’s developing the mindset to make it happen. When I was a little girl, I remember going on big adventures all over the world. I imagined that I was leading a group of people to these beautiful places where they would make new discoveries. (By the way, I was living in Charleston, West Virginia and riding a Schwinn Purple Fair Lady with a silver metallic banana seat, sporting a white wicker basket!). In my work with women, I support them in their journey to their next big idea, dreams and goals. I’m there to assist them with their new discoveries about their own lives.

It’s actually pretty easy to live your life filled with energy, passion and purpose. If you think you can, you will. If you think you can’t, you won’t. Again, it’s about a mindset. It’s essential to live your life according to your plan, making room for the people who matter most to you along the way. I invite you to start looking through your own “Big Book of Action Stickers.” Find the Action Figure that’s right for you. Place it right over your heart, where you can feel it with every breath you take. Who knows? It just might stick…..

Anything is possible. Everything is waiting for you.

Women have increasingly made positive economic contributions to society and their position is being recognized more and more as seen on the Forbes List of Executive Women. In general, women can be a bit more practical in their approach as entrepreneurs too.

Re: Are entrepreneur women more organized than men? - Women are generally more organised than men. They have good instincts more than men. Women are generally aggressive when it come to business. You don't want to mess up with them.
Re: Are entrepreneur women more organized than men? - The issue of women being more organized than men is true, start from you home, just see how messy the boys are. Women are also very cautious, unlike men who take any risk, a woman will analyze the risk first. Women are also go getter when it comes to business, once they make their mind, then they go for it.
Re: Why aren't there more women entrepreneurs? - My opinion on this (being a women, and being disabled), is; Women in general like security. Women are the caretakers, in general. In the work environment we are the one to have children. We are the ones who leave work to do this. We deal with a stigma that we are bad mothers if we work, but we are a bad mother if we do not work. I feel there is no way a man could ever understand this. Sure they can try, and some do a good job of it, however they truly do not understand. How could they?? Being a entrepreneur is throwing cation to the wind. It takes believing in yourself. It takes a women who can have someone say no, put us down or just plan old negativity and for us to turn it around. Women who can do this are called names, while men in the business world are just expected to have a thick skin. Studies show in the work environment that women are more apt to be bullies. Women are more apt to turn on each other. We expect more out of each other. Many women also use the work environment to socialize and to find a mate. Men and women are not created equal. Once we understand this and take what we are and "run" with it; the better all of us will be. Women business owners, women entrepreneurs are still considered a minority. Since there are more women then men in this world, some day this will turn around. This too is why men need to protect themselves and keep us under some kind of control. What bothers me to no end is when women give in to the mans world using sex as a selling tool. We need strong women leaders, not those who use their bodies as a step up. This is just my opinion on this subject.
