Are you a business woman who wants to achieve permanent financial success? Do you realise that you are not that different from someone who has already made it in business.
It is a well known fact that over a third of all businesses don’t succeed but did you know that most business women give up just at the time they are about to make a break through. They don’t take that next step that will take them to the path of success.
Does this sound familiar?
I know as a woman in business I have wanted to give up many times but through sheer determination I didn’t and am now on the path to success. But how, you may be asking. Well let me share with you a few secrets that I have learnt which helped me
1. Think BIG - reach for the moon
As Les Brown said, “Shoot for the moon! Even if you miss, you'll still be among the stars”. I have always had a huge vision of what I want to achieve and I am very passionate about it. Each day I get one step closer to my vision but even if I only make it 80 percent of the way there I will still be extremely happy as I will be very successful. The bigger your vision the more you can achieve!
2. Goals and plans = road to success
Do you play the lottery? Well without goals or plans you have as much chance winning the lottery as you do to succeed in business. They are extremely important. Write down what you want to achieve and how you are going to achieve it and then go for it, one step at a time.
3. Do one thing at a time
As business women we often have a million ideas going through our heads and usually want to do them all at once. I have found the best approach is to decide on what you want to do and then work on one thing at a time until it is completed and then start on the next thing – having your goals and a plan will make the process a lot easier to stick to.
4. Willingness to learn and take advice
Even though we like to think we know it all, we don’t and when it comes to being in business that isn’t a good thing. To be successful you must get help and advice from people who are in the know, people who are experts in their field and know what they are talking about. There is no point in asking someone who has never run a business before, how to run it but believe me the number of people who do is huge.
I now have a team of fantastic people around me who I can learn from and get advice from and you will also be able to tap into their knowledge over the coming months with Mums in Business and Business Women Unite as they have agreed to share it with you as well. Just think of what you could achieve with their help!
5. Know what opportunities to take
Opportunities are all around us; the problem is that because our minds are not set on success we don’t see them. When your mind is open to success, you will see more opportunities.
For example: I have just launched a free online community, Business Women Unite and whilst some will see it as a burden to join and get involved, most will see it as an opportunity. Personally I see it as a fantastic opportunity to promote my business, connect and meet other women and learn something new all in one place. What do you see it as?
6. Take risks
Taking risks goes hand in hand with being a successful entrepreneur. But successful entrepreneur don’t just rush into it, they research the options fully first and then make a decision. They stick with their decision until it has run its course. These don’t have to be high risks; they can be low risks options. For example, reinvesting your business profits and employing a PR consultant or an admin person instead of taking a wage for you. This will help you grow your business instead of standing still.
7. Have fun
Being a woman in business is a huge part of your life so you need to enjoy it otherwise what is the point. So have fun and stay positive and surround yourself with successful people…
As a business woman you too can create the success you want in your business.
