Recession Proof Networking

Are we heading into a recession? Are we already in a recession? Depending on which economic analyst you are listening to, we are either facing or currently in a recession period. As a result, all of us seem to be making changes to our daily routines and lifestyles in order to prepare for or adapt to the economic uncertainties around us.

If you are a business owner, you are likely re-evaluating your bottom line and if you are employed, you are undoubtedly concerned about job security, perhaps revisiting and repolishing your resumes for that “just in case” scenario. Whatever place you may be in today, do not neglect your greatest tool – Networking!

Networking is a low cost yet invaluable asset to your business and career that must be utilized daily! Now is the most powerful time to fortify and strengthen your network by actively building new contacts, dutifully following up with current contacts and dusting off those old contacts.

In times of uncertainty, relationships are concrete. We value those who value us and through effective networking, we are able to build a community of mutual support, resource sharing and advancement.

Create a strategic networking plan today, it is important to be clear on the reason and purpose of your networking efforts. The contacts you build today can quite literally be the opportunity you create for tomorrow. Happy Networking!

Re: How can a social networking site make serious money? Re: How can a social networking site make serious money? - Hi There, It is quite interesting, that some Social Networking do produce an income. I think testimonials are always a benefit to share. See one below: This Social Network has changed my life! Every night is a Friday night and everyday is a Saturday!! Because of it, I have been able to leave the workforce 10 years early. It has given me back my life. Many of us would like to retire early. I am sure there are many more. The point is of focusing with great determination. The ongoing challenge is to stay focussed and not be sidetracked into a newer scheme or so. Also I have read, during this financial turmoil, more people turn to Social Networking for various reasons.

Unless you do this full time (the networking I mean). MichelleJ
Trademarks Trademarks - I have to agree with Barbara. It sounds like you need to at least talk with a good attorney. Proof that you mailed the letter would be helpful. I've learned over the years to keep after people until I get a response. Its very possible that your letter never got to the people who needed to see it and that would make it impossible to get a valid response. Companies are real touchy about their logos, but they did spend a lot of money to develop the design and to develop their brand recognition. I have a logo for my company that my partner designed and five companies in the area have copied it almost exactly. It causes confusion in the area because people see their signs and their truck and think its me, unfortunately and I'm only dealing with that to a small degree. Chris
Trump Institute - Toronto Trump Institute - Toronto - I agree, the Networking available at these courses and the people I can connect them with is what I love to do. Also, this one event is a stone's throw away from my place - I can't resist. Oh! I also get to walk away with some new reading material.
