Harness the Power of ‘Free’ Marketing
No doubt the title of my article caught your attention! The question is - are you gaining enough attention from your customers/clients? And, do you want to maintain their attention?
Most business owners face the daily struggle between giving their clients/customers enough attention and attending to tasks. For home-based businesses there may also be interruptions via the phone, visitors, family and so on.
So, how do businesses attract the right type of attention? One effective method is to offer something for FREE. Here's one example:
A new concept vending machine offers FREE drinks. To get one, people have to wait about 3 minutes while the vending machine plays a commercial. The advertiser gets the customer's complete attention while they wait for their free drink.
There are unlimited ways to attract prospective buyers and keep your regular customers/ clients with free marketing, some are -
- buy one, get one free
- first consultation free
- free event tickets
- free one day or week hire/rent
- free product sample or a free pack with purchases
- free e-book, CD, tele-seminar - it's endless!
IMPORTANT: please do not give poor quality service or 'junk' items even though it's free. This can have the opposite affect i.e. deter people and ruin your reputation! I have seen this happen at events and festivals where people offering 'freebies' become tired and service becomes poor. The key is to offer good products or good value.
Harnessing the 'power of free' is just the beginning, for any free offers to be effective; they must be followed up with active marketing and great customer/client service. Every small business owner should find effective ways to promote their business that is unique to their market. I am a specialist in this field and can assist you to identify your niche or target market.
Successful business owners take time to consider the entire advertising, promotion and marketing process. They plan their initial steps, implement them and assess their performance. They initiate strategies that go beyond the norm and lead to remarkable outcomes.
