No doubt the title of my article caught your attention! The question is - are you gaining enough attention from your customers/clients? And, do you want to maintain their attention? Most business owners face the daily struggle between giving their clients/customers enough attention and attending to tasks. For home-based businesses theremay also beinterruptions via the phone, visitors, family and so on.

So, how dobusinesses attract the right type of attention? One effective method is to offer something for FREE. Here's one example:

A new concept vending machine offers FREE drinks. To get one, people have to wait about 3 minutes while the vending machine plays a commercial. The advertiser gets the customer's complete attention while they wait for their free drink.

There are unlimited ways to attract prospective buyers and keep your regular customers/ clients with free marketing, some are -



IMPORTANT: please do not give poor quality service or 'junk' items even though it's free. This can have the opposite affect i.e. deter people and ruin your reputation! I have seen this happen at events and festivals where people offering 'freebies' become tired and service becomes poor. The key is to offer good products or good value.

Harnessing the 'power of free' is just the beginning, for any free offers to be effective; they must be followed up with active marketing and great customer/client service. Every small business owner should find effective ways to promote their business that is unique to their market. These are just a few I though of off the top of my head. Now that I think of it I need to start doing more myself. ideasuniversity had wrote quit a few good post on marketing/promotion, viral effects and such. You should check them out. Just a word of advice, make sure you have the write niche first. Anyway, hope this helps.
