Are You Taking Inspired Action or Just Going Through the Motions?

Guest post by: Ruth Hegarty

Article Overview: If you aren’t taking inspired action, you are probably just going through the motions of creating your dreams. What’s the difference? Inspired actions come from a place of allowing and joyful manifestation of your desires. Whereas going through the motions is living by default, doing what you think you “should” be doing or what you see other people doing. Going through the motions leaves you frustrated while inspired actions lead you to manifest the life you truly want and deserve.

Are You Taking Inspired Action or Just Going Through the Motions?

If you aren't taking inspired action, you are probably just going through the motions of creating your dreams. What's the difference? Inspired actions come from a place of allowing and joyful manifestation of your desires. Whereas going through the motions is living by default, doing what you think you "should" be doing or what you see other people doing. Going through the motions leaves you frustrated while inspired actions lead you to manifest the life you truly want and deserve.

Inspired action is often the most misunderstood part of the Law of Attraction and the whole deliberate creation process. For some reason, folks have gotten the idea that all you do is focus on what you want, and it magically appears, as if you rubbed a magic lamp and the genie appeared and "poof" your desires are manifested. It doesn't really work that way (although it does often feel that way once you get the hang of it). However, there is definitely action involved - you must take action to make things happen. The difference is that the action I'm advocating is very different from the kind of action that you may have been taught in the past.

Most of us have been taught the formula "do/have/be" which means that in order to have what you want, you have toDo, do, do, do, do and do some more in order to Have what you want, so you can Be happy. That's the "do/have/be" method. The problem with this traditional formula is that there's so much struggle and effort associated with it. By the time you get what you want (IF you get what you want), you are too tired to enjoy it and it never seems as satisfying as you thought it would.

The Law of Attraction formula (and the correct formula in my opinion) is "be/do/have." In this way, you get to start with Being. Be happy. Be joyful. Be loving. Be appreciative. All of this "being" is what makes you an energetic vibrational match to what you want. Concentrate on who you want to be, then Do what you're inspired to do (and don't worry about this part, the inspiration will come as you focus on simply being) and you will Have all that you desire.

As you can see, action is definitely a required component to manifesting. In fact, it's a very important component, however, there's a huge difference between struggling and pushing your way to success and enjoying effortless success through taking only inspired action. Inspired action flows naturally out of your contemplation of joy and "beingness." As you get clear on what you want based on who you are you cease your resistance to "what is," increase your appreciation of everything that you already have and clear away whatever has been blocking you from your dreams (old beliefs that no longer serve you, painful emotions, unresourceful habits, etc.). In so doing, you will flow into energetic vibrational harmony with your desires, which is an absolute necessity for manifesting your dreams.

How do you get started? Begin today by feeling as if you already have what you want (imagine how it feels), then ask yourself: What am I inspired to do? What is one action that would be joyful and would take me closer to my dreams? And then, of course, do whatever you are inspired to do. Don't force the inspiration. If it doesn't come right away, leave the topic for a while to focus more on feeling good and then try again later.

Bonus Tip: Of course, the shortcut in this entire manifestation process is to be joyful. When you are joyful, everything you want can come to you because you are an energetic vibrational match to everything you desire (this is why I called my radio show "The art of joyful living").

Re: New Video - Should I Get A Job Or Start A Business? Re: New Video - Should I Get A Job Or Start A Business? - Hi Evan, I was curious to know what you'd suggest and I think you gave excellent advice. Taking a year out to try and start your own business is a great idea. Taking a year out after college is a well established option so I guess it doesn't prejudice your chances of getting a job should you wish to do so later on; it probably improves your chances if you've been getting valuable experience of managing a business and of course, if all goes well, you won't need to find out. Definitely a video for my website. Thanks! David

Silverstein 2006 From the inside jacket: "Today's consumers can seem impossible to understand, and even harder to please. For instance, the average mall shopper will spend about $100, then leave when she hits that limit. SHe'll probably buy shoes rather than clothing, because she doesn't want to think about her dress size. And the store most likely to get her money isn't the one with the nicest display or the deepest discounts - it's the one closest to her parking spot." Okay, ladies here at evancarmichael.com? Do you follow this generalization? I myself go to bookstores, and nowhere else. Being self-employed in a home office, I don't need to buy new clothes, but I confess I did buy a new pair of bike shoes recently... Re: looking for experienced affiliate feedback Re: looking for experienced affiliate feedback - Hi Chris, That's a great tip. The real benefit to running an affiliate marketing is getting other people to promote your business for you. Taking a pro-active approach as you suggest will certainly help.
Finding creativity Finding creativity - Great topic Andy! For me it's: - Going for a walk (I always try to get out at least once during the day) - Taking a shower - Reading business magazines (especially Inc and Business 2.0) - Late at night (I'm more productive / creative at night than during the day) - Relaxing with a drink at the bookstore
