Only Just a Minute

In each moment, we have the chance to live our whole life. By that I mean that if we are living our lives in touch with our deepest truest self, then every moment is a joy and every moment is complete. As the famous saying goes,

Your thoughts become your actions
Your actions become your habits
Your habits create your character
Your character is your destiny

In each moment, we have the choice to live our destiny by the way we focus our thoughts and express ourselves in actions. The key is in the choices we make every day, every hour, every minute and every second. When I was growing up, if we kids ever complained of being bored or dissatisfied, my mother used to recite a poem to us about time. It went…

I have only just a minute
Only sixty seconds in it
Forces upon me, can’t refuse it
Didn’t seek it, didn’t choose it,
But it’s up to me to use it
I must suffer if I abuse it.
Just a tiny little minute
But Eternity is in it.

It wasn’t until recently that I really began to understand the profound statement she was making. Each of the thousands of choices we make every day become the foundation for our life. Like so many of us, I spent too long making the so called easy choices or the expected choices. I can promise you that as frightening as it feels in the beginning to break your old patterns of choice making, the rewards of accessing your true depth and beauty and creating a life around those truths is more than worth it.

The slower pace of summer is a great time to take the opportunity to discover your life’s purpose and make conscious choices to live according to your truest most authentic desires. It takes strength, confidence, knowledge and courage to live this way in our modern overstressed world so start with small steps and gather support around you while you work towards your greatest self. Think in terms of what people, experiences, environments, thoughts, etc. will make you a happier more alive person then, strategize a plan (piece by piece so you don’t become overwhelmed) that will bring those elements to life. Remember to implement the plan in a sustainable and healthy way. Take your time and take excellent care of yourself during the process.

This is your life; why not make it a great life? The ultimate power lies within you to make your vision a reality. Let us know how we can help you along this journey.

Re: Do Articles For Businesswomen need to be written differently Re: Do Articles For Businesswomen need to be written differently - One of the best books ever written to illustrate this point beautifully, half the book is written in a story style and then the same thing is written again in more of a text book style. The book is The One Minute Millionaire by Mark Victor Hansen and Robert G. Allen. Quite different and I am sure that each half appeals to different people in different ways. MichelleJ
Marketing vs Web Optimizers vs Usability Marketing vs Web Optimizers vs Usability - Hi BigJim22, I must be honest - I haven't really read a lot of Seth's articles on web site strategies. What I have found though is that there always seems to be a three way conflict between marketing ideas, SEO strategies and usability issues when doing web development. The secret is to balance between the ideal situation for each of these. Since a website needs to be found, visited and acted upon we need a strong combination of marketing, SEO and usability to be successful. It's something we struggle with constantly at Last Minute Training and I'm sad to say - we still haven't found the right combination.

Books for Women Entrepreneurs Books for Women Entrepreneurs - There's a thread for good books in the Resources folder, but it doesn't target books for businesswomen particularly, so I figured I'd start such a thread here. It doesn't matter how successful you are in your business - it's always possible to learn something new. In subsequent posts I give Table of Contents and brief descriptions for various titles - most of them devoted to the businesswoman - and sometimes a review.
