Many people feel that they are ill equipped to write their own internet business marketing plan, but following this advice, you'll see that it is not as terrifying as you thought.

One of the first things that you will have to do in your internet business marketing plan is to identify the type of customer or client that you think that you will be serving. Remember that there is no such thing as being too specific or detailed in your internet business marketing plan, so feel free to outline all of the gritty details, like what gender you expect to service most often, what their target age range will be, what their economic status will be, and why these people are likely to be looking for a product or service like yours.

Another thing that you will have to accomplish in your marketing plan is to evaluate which marketing strategies and tactics might make sense for the type of business that you're running, and what these tactics are likely to cost you. Many small businesses find that a marketing budget is hard to come by, and that simply means that you're going to have to get much more creative and targeted when designing your internet business marketing plan.

It is usually beneficial to include a time line in your internet business marketing plan which will allow you to take a step back and evaluate when you can and should implement each of the tactics that you decide upon. This time line could be for the next three months, or for the next three years. An internet business marketing plan should act like a road map when it is completed, allowing you to know exactly what you are working on at the moment, and what you'd like to be working on in the future. Creating this plan will allow you to make the most of the finances that you have.

Business Innovation - Hi Simon If you can finish off the Business Plan and think about your strategic direction or how you are going to use your product to convince people it's a great idea, it will set the foundation for your programming project. You see, when you are looking for funding you will need a Business Plan and Strategic Plan that will convince companies to invest into your new idea. Has anyone achieved this idea before using another industry besides health and fitness that you know of? You should also design some mockups as a "preview" for your programming project. This will also help reduce your programming costs as everyone will know exactly what you want if you have detailed mockups already completed including any functionality you require. Starting mockups for websites and software applications on paper is the best way if you're not a guru in graphic editing software.
Re: How many mambers of this forum are also member of WF? - Hi Kevin, I have to agree with Tanny. All forums are unique in their own way, but doesn't mean that one is better than the other. What you might get out of one forum, you may not get from another. For instance, the WF focuses on Internet Marketing, while this forum focuses on Entrepreneurship. Each has their own set of benefits. I don't think you can really compare one to the other, unless of course they focused on the same topic. I have learned a lot from this forum, stuff I would never have gotten from the WF. With that being said, I've learned a lot from the WF, specifically since I need to know about Internet Marketing and running an online business. The addition of the Online Business forum here will help, and Jeff is doing a great job as moderator.

Re: NEW VIDEO - How to improve your business plan - Ask Evan - Thanks Evan, great intro into how the VC's see business plan. I will take a look, but hope that this video as number 1 in a series. It is unfortunate that these types of errors, the most basic of errors as you point out here are common to too many business plans, having reviewed a few hundred myself from both a development and funding perspective. As a mentor and workshop facilitator for Business Plan development for a number of start-up IT and multimedia companies, your presentation help support and show how the VC's see and evaluate a plan Shameful, that too many don't take the time to learn how to properly prepare, present and defend their plans. Over the years, I have enjoyed Business Plan competitions, and help re-work some of the winning proposals
