A multi-level marketing opportunity is a business that a person runs out of his or her own house. Usually a product or a series of products are sold by a person out of the house. The umbrella company provides literature and other marketing supplies and support, but it is up to the individual to get out and sell the product. That's why the best people to get involved in the business opportunities are those people who enjoy getting up early already prepared for a long day of hard work that is can be thankless at time, but as soon as the money starts rolling in, it all becomes worth it.

The best mlm opportunities are centered on a quality product that doesn't require a lot of tooth and nail selling just to sell one or two units. There are a lot of products out there associated with mlm opportunity that might seem easy to sell on the surface, but actually they are not. The market might have been exaggerated or perhaps something, perhaps an external force, may have shifted, causing the overall atmosphere to be soured to the product. This is why it's important to do some quality assurance before choosing an mlm opportunity. There have been known to be some scams out there. In fact, some people think that multi level businesses and scams are synonymous.

That won't stop the true of heart from succeeding in the exciting world of starting an mlm opportunity. The best thing to do when getting started is set up a home office. This way there will be a place to work and to store the product. It's important at the early stage to stay very organized, especially is this is the first mlm opportunity a person has run on his or her own. With so many orders coming in and product going out, it's easy to get the paper work out of whack. Because an mlm opportunity is a self-starting situation, it helps to think of it like a normal job at first. Also, anyone who has succeeded in an mlm opportunity knows that networking is paramount.

Franchising & Licensing Can Be The Same Thing - FTC Rule 436 defines franchising as anyone offering an Agreement that contains these 3 things: 1. Licensing a "Mark" - which can be a trade name, service mark, commercial symbol, slogan, etc. 2. In the body of the Agreement, there contains, significant controls and assistance. 3. The licensee is paying the licensor in excess of $500 within the first six months of the actual offering of the business. Licensing and Franchising can mean the same thing today. If you do not decide to franchise and comply with FTC Rule 436, you may be in violation of Business Opportunity Laws that exist in 24 individual States.
