Is lack of commitment sabotaging your ability to attract clients?

The dreaded “C-Word... commitment! Does “it” turn you on or off? Pretty general question. Well okay, think about an area in your life where commitment makes you feel uneasy. Write it down now.

Fear of commitment (or intimacy or dependency) is a series of different fears that a person experiences sequentially or simultaneously that include:

We all have innate needs, like thirst, hunger, and feeling loved and being accepted by people who matter to us. But why are so many of us afraid to commit? - Because relationships and our work can be risky business. These experiences open us up, and make us feel vulnerable and weak at times, too. Then, because of all that we have invested in our relationships with prospective or current clients, it can be sobering and un-motivating to stay committed when the “honeymoon” – or feeling of being on a high – is over.

It is human nature to focus our attention and communication on “why” we cannot commit to our clients, business, partner, children, vision, health or finances for example – especially over the long term – and waste our energy convincing ourselves and others that our goals are impossible to achieve. This is a delay tactic for making that commitment. When we are uncommitted, all we see are excuses. And when we are committed, we see much more... possibilities, solutions and opportunities!

Did you know that we are more attractive when we commit our selves to something or someone? When we commit, we also feel relieved, energized, and refreshed. We can then move forward easily and freely – beyond wanting, desiring, and intending – and fulfill our target… because we have committed ourselves.

So, how can being committed to being intimate for example become life changing for you? - By starting to recognize your fear-based emotions – i.e. jealousy, sadness, anger, etc. - for what they are: as an opportunity to trust that the Universe will provide what you need, when you need it, and in the most appropriate way. This is what intimacy is. It is not the act of using immediate family, close friends, and helpful allies as a crutch… as your saviors for when you are feeling “less than” whole, resourceful and creative, which you are essentially thinking yourself to be. Otherwise, these negative emotions will continue to shape your perceptions, judgments, and actions - for the worse.

Let your guard down. Relax into the present moment. Welcome, instead of resist, every circumstance. Enter each fear-based emotion fully, embrace it, and see through your resistance. See these occasions as a chance for you to further explore, discover, and improve yourself so that you can stop reliving the same painful experiences. Remember: This is always about you, and no one and nothing else!

Whatever stance you decide to adopt – committed or uncommitted – remember this: you will attract people, including clients, who are just like you. If you do not like “what” you are currently attracting, you can change that pattern right now by using the guidelines provided above.

This puts the info in front of the person and it is simply a part of your business policy. Shri
Re: Is A Business Plan A Waste Of Time? Re: Is A Business Plan A Waste Of Time? - Usually if someone doesn't have the energy or commitment to follow through on their business plan, they don't have the commitment needed to run a prosperous business. It's kind of like a pre-test. That's just what I've experienced in the past.
Facebook: Personal or Business Utilisation? Facebook: Personal or Business Utilisation? - In regards to using Facebook I only use it to catch up with friends and old school mates. In saying this rarely do I add many applications as you are always "flooded" with requests from your friends so I simply delete 99% if all requests due to lack of commitment. At this stage I don't believe you would see much adoption for a commercial application for Entrepreneurs on Facebook due to the way it is currently utilised as more of a personal tool. Most people think of Facebook as a "social networking" site rather than a "professional networking" site therefore a lot of people will use it as a personal tool to display photos etc rather than using it strictly as a professional business tool. One thing that has impressed me about Facebook in regards to business opportunities is the marketplace. I have viewed heaps of items and even one proposal for a Designer to redo a website, which I could of easily taken an interest in but chose not to due to lack of time so that was slightly exciting at the time. What are everyone elses thoughts on facebook?
Business Coaching Internship Review Business Coaching Internship Review - I joined in during the first phase of the internship and at this point we are committed to doing research and development of RSC Business Group operating in Toronto. RSC Business Group already has products and services in Coaching Small businesses in Los Angeles but we didn't want to assume that the same products were wanted and needed in the Toronto market. Our goal at this point is to commit to interviewing 1000 business owners to capture this data. Through the teleconference internship I've been involved in we've been focusing on Communication Skills and on active listening which are practiced when we conduct our interviews and Coach our clients when they come on board. This is a lot harder than it sounds! Part of the internship is also creating the Toronto RSC Business Group's departments, job descriptions, Marketing and Communication plans etc that a business owner would create for their own company. This trains us in the way we would coach a company as well. The internship is phased in two parts and there is compensation plan involved as well for the clients you personally bring in. These clients are coached directly by Robert Chun as you begin but you are given a chance to learn his techniques. I haven't gone through this experience yet though. It's hard to explain Robert Chun's method of Coaching as it happens at a psychological level in his ability to listen and question the person being coached into the next steps they need to take. The Teleconferences are 2 hours long but it's very interactive. If you have a desire to explore this area of Business I'd recommend contacting Vwodek listed above and get invited to a Coaching Conference call. You can decided then if it's for you. Note: it is a commitment but the skills you walk away with whether you plan on working with RSC Business Group or not is invaluable.
