Top 5 reasons to mix personal with business

I will bet that you did not expect to hear advice about mixing your personal business with your professional business! Let us face it, if you are not clear about and do not have your personal boundaries – including your life purpose, mission, vision, goals, principles and top three values – already in place, then you will be taking the long way to your dream destination and will not be taken as seriously in business and life as you would like to be. So, mixing personal with business is essential for work-life success and satisfaction. Yes, personal and business boundaries go hand in hand.

Why mix personal with business boundaries?

Reason #1: Strong personal boundaries create strong relationships and businesses.

Reason #2: Boundaries are an effective way to upgrade the quality of your life, as they decrease stress, overwork and overwhelm, and increase your bottom line.

Reason #3: Together, personal and business boundaries make a powerful team, whose sum is greater than their parts.

Reason #4: The Universe loves and is attracted to order, including boundaries, which clarify what you want and are committed to.

Reason #5: Knowing and stating what you want is sexy!

By identifying and respecting your personal boundaries, it is easier for you to, as The Highly Sensitive Person in Love author Elaine N. Aron states it: “let in what is useful and keep out what is not useful, like others' needs for you to respond in ways they want rather than ways good for the both of you.” Using hand analysis language, this holds true especially for people in the School of Love, who are here to feel their feelings and put into practice Nike’s mantra “just do it” as they go about on their dream journey, regardless of how uncomfortable they may feel along the way. Also, to piggyback on Dr. Phil’s popular saying, “You teach people how to treat you”, clearly-set boundaries allow people to know and understand how you want to be treated. Interestingly, if you take this saying one step further, you can also state, “I am teaching myself how I want to be treated”. Setting personal parameters is the ultimate way of showing that you love and respect yourself. How powerful is that? Powerful enough to shift from insecurity and self-blame to confidence and healthy self-esteem. And I cannot think of anything sexier than people who feel secure and solid about who they are… feel completely at home both inside and outside of their homes.

The Flaw In Personal Branding...? The Flaw In Personal Branding...? - To what extent do you use personal branding to build your business and your business image? To build an effective personal brand, the image you convey needs to be authentic, not phoney ... so to what extent do you, or would you, allow your personal flaws to be part of your personal brand image?? We could be talking about the physical side, including physical condition and fashion, or it could be in the area of personal behaviour and characteristics or habits, or it could be in the area of lifestyle... Don't you think it might be better to have a flaw or two on display, to appear more human, and perhaps therefore more like someone people could do business with? Or is there a flaw in the whole idea of personal branding. Shouldn't we just concentrate on branding our products??
Re: What are reasons to stay in touch with your customers? Re: What are reasons to stay in touch with your customers? - Hi Everyone, Thank you all for your answers, but I think my question was misinterpreted (I probably should have phrased it better). While staying in touch with customers is vital to any business' success, what I really wanted to know was... what are some of the reasons/excuses to contact your customer to say "thank you" or to just stay in touch. For instance, if your customer has been shopping with your business for 1 year or has spent "x" amount of dollars with your business or it's his/her birthday... what are some other reasons? Thanks
Re: Domains Re: Domains - Hey David, Why do you want to sell your domains? You can give them on lease for a couple of years. The reason why I suggest you this is that the two sites you want to sell can do business for you. You are already into SEO and hence you can run a website. You may have personal reasons for selling them off, like you are too occupied with other work, but still, why to slay the goose that gives golden eggs? It just needs a few minutes of your precious time. However, if you have made up your mind, try to find out some organization into ipods and make a deal. Alternatively, use the site for Blogging (it looks like a blog at the first go), do some Adsense and earn revenue. Ups and downs are a part of business and you should not plan to sell off when things don't go your way. Be a fighter. Good Luck.
Re: CAPTION CONTEST: Create a caption for this photo! Whoever ge Re: CAPTION CONTEST: Create a caption for this photo! Whoever ge - GT - you can create a page for your business without having to share personal information. I keep my personal Facebook account and my business page quite separate. I never really got into Facebook until they allowed for you to separate your personal life from your brand.
Equipment leasing Equipment leasing - Equipment leasing has many benefits, such as tax benefits, conserving money and always having up to date equipment to stay competative to name a few. Obviously, it's partially dependent upon what type of business you have as to whether you will benefit more than someone else but... Do you think it's worth leasing your equipment rather than purchasing it? Can you think of any other reasons you can benefit from it or any reasons this is not a good idea?
