Are You a Go-Giver? 4 Ways to Start Giving More to Get More in Your Business
Most
entrepreneurs are highly motivated and ambitious and often referred to
as “go-getters.” While being dubbed a go-getter can be a compliment,
try being a “go-giver” to get even more out of your business!
Here are Ways to Become a Go-Giver:
1. Give more referrals.
Sometimes I have entrepreneurs that are disappointed with the amount
of referrals sent to them lately. When asked, “how many referrals have
you sent lately?” I often find out that it’s not very many (if any). If
you want to get lots of fantastic referrals sent to you, send some out
yourself.
Develop a network of colleagues that you know, trust, and respect,
and send them clients when you know it’s a mutually beneficial
relationship. Even consider sending clients to a competitor when you
know it’s a better fit. Example: If you are a coach
and a lady wants to coach with you, but something in her story or
personality resonates better with one of your coach friends, refer her
to your colleague. You won’t be disappointed.
Even when you are tempted to book a client and make some money, it
will be more beneficial to you in the long run to refer them off when
you know they are better suited somewhere else. This will also open the
door for more clients who are perfect for you. Everybody wins.
You will also be on the minds of colleagues that you have referred people to, and they will send more back to you!
2. Give money
Consider donating a certain amount of proceeds to charity. Another
good idea is to let high-paying customers choose the charity that their
proceeds are given to and make a donation in that client’s name.
This is one great way to have good things coming back into your
business. People also automatically trust your business when they see
that you donate to good causes.
3. Give time
Consider sending your staff (or yourself) to volunteer for
fund-raisers and charity events on a workday a few times a year. You
will help others while networking for your business.
4. Give prizes
Make it a habit of donating prizes at charity events. You can donate
services or goods and you don’t have to even be there. This gets your
name out in the community while helping others at the same time!
If you want to get more in your business, give more!
