Article Overview: When you are using your strengths excessively and in unintentional ways, by default they will become your weakness and the outcome will not be what you are looking for. This is a brief lesson on The Law of Polarity and the basic implications it has on your professional and personal life.

Your Strength Can Be Your Weakness and Your Weakness Can Be Your Strength

Every one of us has characteristics and talents that are natural to us. It is part of our overall makeup that makes us unique and special as individuals. Some of us are naturally outgoing and enthusiastic whereas others are naturally funny and comedic. Others may be naturally more quiet and subdued and others enjoy observing people and surroundings. All of these characteristics can help the person reach his or her goal when the person is balanced and understanding that our unique talent and personality traits were gifted to us by God/The Universe for the purpose of fulfilling our destiny.

Now for the Law of Polarity (opposites). According to the Law of Polarity any given thing cannot be a strength if it cannot also be a weakness. You cannot have a right without a left; you cannot have an up without a down; there cannot be a north without a south; something cannot be strong unless it can also be weak and vice versa. This is a very important law to understand in its basic implication because as you grow as a person, you will start to understand it in its deeper implication.

Any strength becomes a weakness when it is used excessively. For example: a person who laughs naturally is a joy to be around however; when that same person laughs all of the time ,even during inappropriate times, she becomes a bore and annoying thus she will start to repel people from her.

This is the case with everything. Alcohol is not a weakness until it becomes an addiction. Persistence is not a weakness until the person becomes rude and obnoxious. One's mental and physical drive is not a weakness until the person does not know when to stop and take a break. I could go on and on but you are very smart and you get the point.

Use your natural God given talents for your benefit but always strive to have balance in your life. When you find yourself getting out of balance, take a breath and reassess the situation. This imbalance is causing other areas in your life to suffer and you should be striving to be abundant in everything.

Give thanks for this valuable lesson. You are accomplishing things that you never dreamed would ever take place in your life. You are magnificent, created to do wondrous things. You are seeing dreams come true even as you are reading this right now. I am so incredibly proud of you.

Re: your personality type? - Hi Zac, If you're on the fence about 2 and 3, I'd think more about them. Big picture people tend to be oblivious to the detail of what is happening NOW -- the colors on a restaurant wall, the layout of someone's apartment, the color of people's shirts at a party, etc. They instead notice the "theme" -- an upscale restaurant (who knows what color), casual shirts at a party (not sure what style), etc. A "trendy" apartment, but who knows where the bathroom was. Gut feeling people tend to act w/o all the facts, and are comfortable following that instinct. "Thinker" people will choose something even if they HATE it, just because it "makes sense." Where as that makes no sense to a gut person. Thinkers are more "black and white" where as gut instinct feelers are more "gray area" people. But going with your selections... 1. Within 2. Big Picture 3. Gut Feeling 4. Spontaneous The Reflective Seeker of Truth. You are a passionate searcher of big-picture meaning and strive to help others with your empathetic listening skills. Best Advice "I read in Working Mother magazine that women CEOs need to take the ability that they have in their work life to delegate responsibility and create a management team and apply that to their home life as well. So I really try to think of running my household the same way I run my business; whether it's cleaning ladies or repairmen, I find people I trust and have them take care of tasks that I don't need to spend time on. This has relieved a lot of guilt and allowed me to focus on the things that are really important." Most Rewarding Moments "Winning the Working Mother award as one of the 25 Best Small Companies felt pretty great because it showed that having a unique workplace does pay off. But even better is realizing that your message is getting across to your people. I love seeing quotes at my team's desks about goals and achieving your dreams, all of the exact things I say to empower them. It's cool to realize that there isn't a lot of cynicism, and that people are really buying into these ideas and making them their own." Parting Thoughts ...
