Small Business: 2 HOT Tips For Blogging On A Free Blog For Great Traffice

A question that is often asked is about posting articles and how do to avoid ‘duplicate content penalties'. In fact, the discussion was "I'm just exhausted by the number of different articles I have to write". There still appears to be a lot of conjecture and misunderstanding about when and where to use articles, so here are "2 HOT Tips For Blogging On A Free Blog". Tip 1: Be Clear About Why You Are Using The Free Blog

Sometimes, in the excitement of building our businesses, we lose focus on why we are article marketing and the article marketing becomes the focus of our activity. This is a sure fire way to not succeed.

When helping a business get started online, I recommend using a free blog as a way to improve the off page Search Engine Optimization of your website. Let's take a look why:

1. Get Indexed - that is, listed in the Search Engines

In times not so long ago, getting listed in the Search Engines was fairly difficult. I still remember reading that it could take at least 6 months for a site to be listed in the Search Engines ‘organically'. Often, you weren't indexed until another site linked to you. That's because Search Engine 'spiders' (the little software robots that search engines send out to ‘review' webpages) would follow the link and literally ‘finds' your site. When using a free blog, you are putting a link back to your site in your article - most likely your Author Resource box - and allowing search engines ‘to find your site'. If you follow my tried and true method, it wouldn't be unusual for your articles to rank more highly in the Search Engines than your website for a while.

2. Generate Backlinks.

Back Links are important to the ranking of your site - and for some sites back links from an authority site are the way that they actually get placed into the Search Engines. In terms of Search Engine Optimization, part of the search algorithm (the formula that search engines use to rank your site) takes into consideration the number of links that your site has back (back links) from other sites. So having links from other sites is good - but having links from ‘authority sites' is even better.

3. Credential Yourself As An Expert.

By writing articles for your niche, you are demonstrating your expertise around your chosen subject. By demonstrating your expertise on a regular basis you are developing your credibility and trustworthiness.

By keeping these three objectives clear in your mind - you will be far more successful in your Article Marketing.

Tip 2: Use Two Part Articles To Drive More Traffic

If you really want to have unique content on your blog and on your free blog, then split your articles in two. Publish the 2nd part, with all the ‘meat', on your blog and publish the first part, which should be informative, on the Free Blog and point to the Part 2 for more information.

Two part articles work really well. The first part generates interest, whilst still answering questions, and directs traffic back to your site. Each part should be approximately 300 to 400 words long.

As long as you stay clear on what you are trying to achieve - your use of a free blog will be successful. If you find yourself becoming overwhelmed with the number of articles you think you have to write - STOP, relax and refocus - you'll be surprised at what you can achieve.

Re: Best Internet Marketing Strategy Re: Best Internet Marketing Strategy - Hi David, I agree about the Blogosphere. You have a smaller group that Blog, but do so on the premise that they think they should, but have never really considered the purpose of their Blog. Then I think there are a few SEO or Internet Marketing types that see Blogging as just another link building strategy. But the largest group of Bloggers, tend to be people who enjoy writing and discussing their topics of interest. Blogging is good for link building, but the true Blogger is a breed apart from the rest. They want to dialog, to debate, to have feedback and they are very willing to link to other worthwhile conversations that are relevant to their topic. I agree with you. These group of Bloggers obviously are passionate about their writing and together, they create huge conversation trails interactive and travel from Blog to Blog. But the evidence is clear with this group that loves what they write about. With comments enabled on a Blog and having a Blog tuned to a specific purpose you already have the evidence of original Social Media.
My entry My entry - 1. The Best Business Books Ever: The 100 Most Influential Business Books You'll Never Have Time to Read - this is a fascinating book about the history of Business theory, and I'd recommend it to anybody. 2. The Big Book of Small Business: You Don't Have to Run Your Business by the Seat of Your Pants, by Tom Gegax. Ditto. 3. PADI: The Business of Diving Book Okay, so this book won't be of use to anyone who doesn't want to start a scuba store, but I did, and this book was of course invaluable to me in reaching that goal.
Re: Best Internet Marketing Strategy Re: Best Internet Marketing Strategy - I wanted to share more on the topic of Blogging and creating your own original content that you enjoy writing about. Here's a real example. My wife started her own little Web site a few years ago. It's a very simple, home made Web site she built all on her own. She had sort of a hobby of going into Dollar stores, purchasing a few inexpensive items for a buck or two. Then she would create something completely new (usually home decor) out of what she bought (often with the same value of creating something that was worth up to $15 or $20) if you bought it in other stores, but only using material she bought at a dollar store. So on this little Web site, she starts writing about her creations and take pictures of them etc. A few years ago, someone from an AOL Money and Finance Blog (called Wallet Pop) invited her to Blog for AOL. Today, she write for both the US AOL Blog and the Canadian AOL Blog as well as she continues with her hobby and keeping up her own Web site. The other Bloggers at AOL have nick-named her, "The Dollar Store Diva" and she often writes about budget decorating. What amazes me is that with no SEO and just her original content, she attracts huge volumes of traffic. She has done radio shows in Toronto (and nearly went to the US to do breakfast television) and most people would be so amazed to see the traffic spike she gets from Blogging. But once again, she is just writing about the stuff she loves to write about. She is having fun with creativity and she now has a huge following of readers and subscribers.Others are decorating their homes with her ideas and their doing it with next to no budget. If someone is creating a Web site or a Blog, the best thing you can do is try something original on your own, but make it something that you love to write about.
