Article Overview: Blogs are effective for traffic generation and profiling, simply because they get updated. When you add a post to a blog (an article, if you like) - most blogging engines will automatically tell the blogging directories about the new content (including Google). These automatic updates make it a lot easier (and eventually quicker) for your content to be indexed (appear in the Search Engines) and found by people searching for your keywords.

Small Business: Free Blogs For Better Traffic
Without a doubt, blogs and blogging are popular - and they're used in a variety of different of ways.
Some people use blogs simply for journaling and sharing their writing; others use blogs to publish material; a well planned blog can be used for income generation and... a blog can also be used as a method of traffic generation and profiling for your website.
It is this last point that we are going to focus on - and discuss why using a free blog can be effective.
First - blogs are effective for traffic generation and profiling, simply because they get updated. When you add a post to a blog (an article, if you like) - most blogging engines will automatically tell the blogging directories about the new content (including Google). These automatic updates make it a lot easier (and eventually quicker) for your content to be indexed (appear in the Search Engines) and found by people searching for your keywords.
Having a blog under your own domain name is really must and all of your primary material should be on this site.... however, you can use free blogs - like URBlogged.com - to help the indexing and Search Engine ranking process.
As free blogs are used by many people, they are constantly being updated with new material - and what do search engines love most? FRESH CONTENT. You can take advantage of this by posting content that links back to your blog or website on these sites - and it isn't difficult.
Judicious posting of content to free blogs will increase your reach to your Target Audience. Here are a few tips on how you can easily use a free blog to your benefit:
- Register your free blog name using your primary keywords. Your blog name (and url) will then become yourkeywords.urblogged.com - this is a great start for Search Engine Optimization.
- Always post your main article or blog post to your primary blog first - assuming your site is indexed relatively quickly, your site generally becomes the ‘authority' for the material
- Take your article, and modify it so that it is different. Some simple ways to change your content include:
* Changing the introduction and conclusion paragraphs
* If you have a Top 10 Tips style article, share the 3 best tips in the article you share on your free blog
* Instead of posting the full article, post an audio or video with your talking your post - Post your article on your free blog, and link back to your main site. When linking, make sure you use your keywords as your linking text (using 2 links in every 100 words is generally acceptable).
- Before publishing your article, include an ‘About The Author' section at the bottom of your post. This section can be your profile and a Call To Action to send readers back to your main blog or site to get more information.
If you can aim to post one new article a week to your free blog(s), you should see a marked improvement in the traffic to your website....
