Shopping Cart Independant Affiliate Programs

Can you implement an Affiliate Program and whether that program is ‘part’ of the shopping cart you use? This is a question that many small businesses ask.

There are several ways to provide an affiliate program, that are independent to a shopping cart. Of course, there are some shopping carts that also provide Affiliate Programs – but it’s not always the case.

Here are some ways that you can implement an Affiliate Program, almost regardless of the shopping cart you use!

iDevAffiliate will allow you to create an Affiliate Program on your own hosting, and will integrate with a wide range of Shopping Carts, including paypal.

Clickbank – not my choice because it also handles the payment processing, but it is relatively easy to setup. Be careful, Clickbank requires a 60 day no questions asked money back guarantee and each Clickbank account is really only good for one product, unless you have some fancy coding skills or a third party service

You could also look into using services that actually manage and look after the affiliates for you:

Commission Junction

ClixGalore

LinkShare

Share A Sale

Most of these will require you to put code on your ‘success’ page that will indicate a successful sale has been made – therefore, they are ‘mostly’ shopping cart or payment processor independent.

Re: Affiliate Marketing - Open for Discussion Re: Affiliate Marketing - Open for Discussion - I believe affiliate marketing can be quite lucrative, too. Some companies are paying their affiliates up to 90%, and it's basically all profit if you can advertise by social networking or just using the webtraffic your own site already gets. There is one thing that I would warn about affiliate marketing though. Check them out very carefully before you decide to sink a lot (or any for that matter) of money into them. A lot of the internet companies that are offering affiliate programs are fly by the seat of their pants new companies who just want to get some sales to get their business going. Make sure everything is on the up and up and then go for it if that's the avenue you choose.
Re: Clickbank Marketing Techniques Re: Clickbank Marketing Techniques - OK, I've just gone through the download process myself, and everything worked smoothly. On a very quick peep into the book I can tell you that you get over 70 pages of info. I looked at a couple of pages at random and was immediately learning some hot stuff. This guy knows what he is talking about! * Running affiliate programs via Clickbank... the advantages, one key disadvantage and how to get around it. * How your own affiliate program can be used to give a massive boost to your one way backlink building campaign... Please note, I am not an affiliate of this product and I'm not trying to get a quick sale off my forum friends. I just trust Cyn and when I started to read the book I found, once again, that it was trust well placed. DH
Re: Online Store for Website Re: Online Store for Website - We've used it for our business since early 2011 and there have been no issues. All you do is create a PayPal account with your business email address, or make one up for you business, apply the business credit card info to it and get a shopping cart app and that's it. We don't keep a lot of money in our PayPal account though. Stay around $500 or less. I've heard stories where people had a ton of money in their PayPal account and could not get it out for some reason. So be careful. Use it only as a transfer process and you'll be fine.
Affiliates vs selling your own material Affiliates vs selling your own material - [quote:1w85dxq6]I will check into the few mentioned other affilliate programs, anyone have any other suggestions?[/quote:1w85dxq6] Rather than using an affiliate (other than Google Ad Sense, which works well,at least for me) , why not write pamphlets or How to Books of your own, and sell them on your site. Then, when you get a purchase, *you* get the full purchase price, not just a small percentage, which is what you get as an affiliate...
Re: Affiliate Marketing - Open for Discussion Re: Affiliate Marketing - Open for Discussion - I couldn't agree more. I started my Affiliate Marketing business with just the fee for the domain name and my monthly web hosting, which I would have needed to pay for any online business with a website. All the affiliate programs on my site are free to join, and of course free to promote. There are way too many people out there making money out of scams. If anyone here is thinking of joining any affiliate program (especially one that charges you to join), and you are in any doubt whatsoever about it, just post here in the forums and there are a few of us in here now who would be pleased to check it out for you. Take care, Carol
