Why You Need More Visibility - and How to Get It!
What does that plan look like? It’s made up of three distinct avenues you have to travel:
Avenue #1: Relationships
Avenue #2: Relevance
Avenue#3: Resonance
Let’s break it down. In order to create more visibility, you have to give heavy weight to the idea of developing relationships. It may require learning some basic business networking techniques. So many women (okay, men too) think they have their relationship building down pat, but in fact they shy away from some of the more assertive tactics. Here is what to remember:
a)The people you meet are your greatest assets.
b)You have to nurture and build connections daily.
c)It requires patience to develop a meaningful connection with someone.
d)You should put yourself in places where you can meet others.
e)Once you begin a relationship, you’ll have to give to strengthen it.
Once you nail the relationship requirement, you have to consider your relevance. Without it, you’ll have a hard time gaining the visibility you’ll need for moving forward and being recognized by those in decision-making roles. Here’s how to think about your relevance:
a)When you offer solutions, you are seen as more vital.
b)If you are timely in your responses, you are noticed more.
c)Those who deliver clear messages command more attention.
d)If you bring quicker results, you get on someone’s radar screen.
e)Very time you’re innovative, someone in charge will make note
Finally, we all need resonance. It’s the ability to be seen, to be heard and to assure our visibility on a measurable level. The visibility plan can’t stop with relationships and relevance unless you plan on hiding away. No, no! Now it’s time to make your mark.
Concentrate on 3 key factors in order to claim your visibility:
a)You have to say something aloud to create a response.
b)You should do something special that will be appreciated.
c)You can practice bringing a positive attitude and talking as a “can-doer.”
