Sometimes, the bigger the change, the more complicated things can get. Consider Meaningful Use of EHR, the government health care IT initiative that has physician practices everywhere in a panic. We know you became a doctor to treat patients, but you shouldn't lose sight of the fact that it is indeed a business! And these changes will soon affect your business. Many practices wonder, "Does it require an entire team of IT professionals to teach the office how to meet it? Will everything about how the office is run have to change? And how much is all this going to cost, anyway?"
Good news! You don't have to buy an EMR or EHR in order to satisfy the federal government if you take a modular approach to meeting the requirements. Going this route allows practices to simplifying Meaningful Use and e-prescribing in three easy steps.
STEP ONE: The simplified way to learn Meaningful Use.
Select a system designed for your lowest common denominator, i.e. users with the most limited technical aptitude. The right system should only require a single 3 hour training session in order for all users to learn the basics.
STEP TWO: The simplified way to meet Meaningful Use criteria.
The 25 criteria that must be met to fulfill "Meaningful Use" may seem complicated at first, but the simplified explanation is that you must select an ONC-ATCB certified solution that allows you to e-prescribe medication, track and record patient data, and other daily procedures. Choose an ONC-ATCB certified system that allows you to work within your own terms and timetable, without having to go full paperless until they're ready.
STEP THREE: The simplified way to afford a Meaningful Use solution.
Practices should choose a system that costs less than what they expect to receive of the $21K for the first year of ARRA Meaningful Use electronic medical records stimulus package incentives. Paying more out-of-pocket before you receive the incentive money just doesn't make good business sense. In addition, some solutions offer financing options, therefore allowing you to avoid using your capital, and freeing up money for other more profitable uses such as staffing.

I write down what I need to achieve and then reward myself at the end of the day or week as I achieve milestones.

You were asking who Richard Branson is, well after a few false starts his first successful business venture was producing a magazine called ‘student’ which he launched in 1968. He then started selling records by mail order in 1970 before opening his own record shop in Oxford Street in 1971. He then opened the Virgin recording studio in 1972 followed by his own Virgin Records label in 1973 and the rest is history.
He is the founder and inspiration for all things Virgin now such as Virgin Telecoms, Virgin Atlantic Airline, Virgin Records, Virgin Racing, Virgin Bank and Building Society amongst many others here and abroad and I would like to get to London to meet him and listen to what he has to say.
Sir Richard Branson as he is now has been drafted in as one of several ambassadors to bolster Britain's image abroad. The initiative will be launched across 17 key cities, including LA, Tokyo, Beijing and Sydney, with events including a show in Rio during which images of Britain will be beamed onto Sugarloaf Mountain.

- Oh, I forgot to mention that I want to group the e-products into a "package" and offer the complete deal at a lower price. I'm thinking this might affect the initial prices I set for the individual items?

- When I came back to Japan in 1999 I sometimes used to ask my students if they would buy anything on the Internet and at that time most thought it was too risky. I'd encourage them to try by using well known sites such as Amazon.co.jp and also pointed out that using a credit card on a reputable site was safer than using it at a restaurant.
I can't remember the last time I had that discussion or when the "tipping point" occurred in Japan.
To answer your other question, I use Paypal for several reasons:
1. Brand familiarity
2. Easy to use
3. Free to withdraw 50,000yen+ to my Japanese bank account - a huge benefit (but maybe other systems also offer that...?)
4. Easy to cancel subscriptions
On the down side, their transaction fees are quite costly, they are difficult to contact and when disputes arise you can sometimes lose even when you can prove via your tracking service that the disputed item was "delivered" to the customer's address!
