Wrapping it Up!

Wrapping it Up!

December is a time for giving. Many of us will spend hours agonizing over the perfect gift. I still remember the year I decided it would be fun to do my wrapping on Christmas Eve! There are many ways to give this holiday season.

We can give the gift of:
• Our time - to participate in community festivities or to help those less fortunate
• Thanks – the holidays are a wonderful time to remember those we would like to thank
• Kindness – let someone go ahead of you in a line up, smile at the frazzled shoppers
• Forgiveness – we have heard the expression life is short, what if it is true for you?
Let go of the things that weigh you down.
• Patience & Understanding – at this busy time of year what a wonderful gift to share with
others and yourself, don’t sweat the small stuff.
• Being a great receiver – giving and receiving are part of the same equation.
Remember that by receiving graciously you are giving someone else the chance to give.

I am always mindful that the holidays are a challenging and lonely time for many. As we go through this month of festivities and brightly lit stores, please keep in mind those less fortunate, alone and those unable to gather with their loved ones. A small gesture of kindness that is heartfelt can make a difference.

If you feel apprehensive about how you will get it all done this holiday season, slow down, take some deep breathes and establish your priorities. Setting realistic expectations is a must. You may find it helpful to follow the business mantra of “under promise and over deliver”.

December also wraps up this year of 2007. As we wind down to the end of year, what will you be most thankful for? Take your time to reflect during the holiday on your triumphs and your challenges. Those New Year’s resolutions and plans for the New Year are right around the corner.

There are many ways to wrap up this holiday season - Kindness is always the best gift!

Blessings to you and yours this holiday season!
