Celebrating YOU: the Leading Lady of Your Show

Most people think about Valentine's Day, when they think about the month of February. It's important to celebrate your loved ones, and love in general. However, while you are busy planning a special evening with your special someone, I would like to remind you to celebrate YOU -- the most important (but often neglected) person in YOUR life.

Whenever I asked the question "Who is the most important person in your life?" My clients and workshop participants always answered "my husband/wife, my kids, my parents", etc.

NOT ONCE has someone answered "Me" or "Myself".

NOT ONCE.

I often joked that "If your answer is anyone but yourself, then you need to come see me ASAP!"

Think about it: What would your life be without YOU?

What would your loved ones' life be, without a healthy, happy and vibrant YOU?

When my clients said to me "But the show must go on", I asked "Whose show are you talking about?" I told them, "You may not realize this, but YOU are the Leading Lady of your show, the show that's Your Life".

Every single one of us is the Leading Lady (or Man) of our own life.

Now, let me make myself clear. This is NOT about being ego-maniac or narcissistic. It's about self love, the greatest love of all. (Remember that Whitney Houston song? Now that I mentioned it, I bet you can't get that song out of your head now, can ya?)

"But, ..."

I know, there's a big BUT coming up right at this moment...

You probably have convincing reasons why you are not the most important person in your life, and why you cannot afford to put your self-care as top priority.

As a professional life coach, keynote speaker and mother of two, over the years I've heard many, many legitimate reasons as well as excuses (and the limiting beliefs behind them), from my clients, my audiences, my friends, and my family. I have experienced many similar challenges myself, in my previous roles as a nurse, counselor, full-time stay-at-home mom, full-time working mom, small business owner, etc. Believe me, I know. It's not easy.

It's especially hard when you have some limiting beliefs around the issue of self love, self esteem and self-care. You know the limiting beliefs I'm talking about -- "I can't afford it", "I'm not worthy enough", "I don't deserve it", "I must take care of everyone else first (or else)", "If I say no, people won't love/like me any more", etc. etc. etc.

Does it ring a bell?

These limiting beliefs took years to form, and it will take some time and some hard work to overcome them. But, it's not impossible. When you can break free from these limiting beliefs, you will finally be free to be your authentic self, and free to create the life you truly desire. If you need some coaching around these issues, I'll be happy to help you.

Even when you are still chained to your limiting beliefs, you can still make a conscious choice, right now, to love and accept yourself, and to treat yourself with respect and some much needed TLC.

Remember, you are the Leading Lady and director of your own show. You are in charge and fully responsible for how your show turns out to be. If your show is competing for the Academy of Life Award, which categories will it be nominated? Which awards will you win?

This Valentine's Day, make a point to celebrate YOU, honor yourself, and give yourself the LOVE and star treatment you truly deserve.

Re: How to Promote a MLM Business? Re: How to Promote a MLM Business? - I have to agree with several of the previous posts here. Having your own site so that you can get it ranked is a big one. Also, as stated above, using a "passive" recruiting style works really well. Leading by example, people will naturally want to follow you over time if you prove yourself a leader. Bottom line, if you are promoting your opportunity or products, you are losing sales. About 85% of the population hates to be sold. Promote YOU, build relationships and let the business fall in place after that. Bill
When is the best time to open a new business? When is the best time to open a new business? - As a webzine publisher, I can launch a new business (ie, a new webzine) whenever I want. However, its success can be delayed considerably depending on timing. For example, my Tennessee Lady Vols website was moribund for about a year because the Lady Vols didn't win the championship that year, but they won it the nex year and the site itself took off like a rocket - briefly, unfortunately, thanks to Don Imus, but at least now it has steady readership. On the other hand, I started my Jacoby Ellsbury site mid-season, but it took off immediately because of who he was - first Navajo in the Majors, in his rookie season and making an impact - and the fact that the Red Sox went on to win the World Series certianly gave it a push, but it didn't really need it. Of course that's business on the web. What about "bricks and mortars" businesses? Should a retail store start just before Christmas, to get an extra push from that season, or start at the first of the year, or what? Anyone have any thoughts?

Sports is queen! Sports is queen! - About four years ago I started a webzine called The Thunder Child, devoted to science fiction and fantasy in all media. Growth was verrrrrrrrrrrrry slow at first, but has gradually picked up so that now I'm making a respectable income from my amazon.com and google adsense. (Well, from adsense, anyway. Amazon is a drop in the bucket compared to what adsense brings in.) Last year I put together a website showcasing the Tennessee Lady Vols (who won the NCAA championships last year), and just two weeks ago I put together a small website for Jacoby Ellsbury, a rookie outfielder for the Boston Red Sox - called a "phenom" and already very popular. The Lady Vols site has about 20 pages...the Ellsbury site has 5. Compared with The Thunder Child that, started out with about 20, and is now at about 1,000 and growing. Well, the hits on those two sports sites are more than three times what the hits on my Thunder Child site was during the first year of its existence. Since I've been a sports fan all my life, I reaaaaally wish that I'd started a sports webzine four years ago instead of this sci fi one, because I think my income now would be treble what it is. No doubt about it, sports rules!
Re: Make Friends...Literally BUILD them! Re: Make Friends...Literally BUILD them! - It's the "prequel " to the Battlestar Galactica TV show. It's how Robots became "Human" and took over the world. Great Show
