Clinical Hypnosis Facts

Hypnosis is simply an altered state of mind that is characterized by high suggestibility. It will feel familiar and comfortable to you because most people experience it as deep relaxation or even sleep.

Our state of mind changes frequently throughout the day and night. Driving your car is a different state of mind than reading, which is different than sleeping. Falling asleep in front of the television is a form of hypnosis, which by the way, is not recommended. This is because you are receiving powerful suggestions from advertisers without your analytical mind to filter out what's wanted from what's not.

During hypnosis you are fully in control. You know exactly where you are the entire time. You can adjust your position, scratch, sneeze or cough. You can open your eyes and bring yourself out of hypnosis at any time. You can still hear sounds around you, like a phone ringing or any other sounds that may signal for your conscious awareness to become active. You can alert yourself and respond to any situation that needs your immediate attention. You remain oriented as to person, place, and time. You can even hold a conversation in hypnosis, which is often the case in regressions and gestalt-type sessions.

Hypnosis is not sleep, although some people get so relaxed that they may fall asleep. This is no problem because some part of the mind continues to listen to the voice of the hypnotherapist. In hypnosis, sleeping clients can still follow instructions such as moving a finger, taking a deep breath or awakening themselves when they are asked to do so.

When you go to a hypnotist for a specific purpose such as smoking cessation, weight loss, stress or anxiety reduction, eliminating fears or phobias, irritable bowel syndrome, chronic fatigue, pain control or creative exploration, your stated purpose becomes the therapist's objective for you. A hypnotist is expert at translating your wants and desires into the special language of the subconscious mind. Since your mind and body function as one, undivided whole (see MindBerg), your objective is most efficiently accomplished because all parts of your mind and body are working together and in the same direction. Ambivalence is eliminated and in its place is the natural, efficient flowing toward your intended goal.

There is no failure in hypnosis. What is normally viewed as failure is simply feedback that we use to achieve your goal. This feedback only reflects a need for adjustment in perspective, approach and inclusiveness. This is the mastery that you can accomplish through hypnosis and self-hypnosis.

Some other facts:

* Hypnosis is scientifically proven and used in a variety of fields including medicine, dentistry, law enforcement, professional sports and education.

* Hypnosis is safe and effective. It was approved by the American Medical Association in 1958.

* Hypnosis has double the success rate of nicotine gum or patches for smoking cessation.

* Hypnosis used expertly with neural reprogramming gives you an 85%+ success rate in one session.

* Hypnosis is a natural state that everyone can experience.

* Anyone with an IQ of 70 or greater can be hypnotized.

* You are always in control while in hypnosis and can terminate the session at any time.

* You cannot be made to do anything against your will.

* A strong will actually enhances hypnotic effectiveness.

* Hypnosis is easy and the benefits last a lifetime.

Re: Is getting a formal education worthwhile for entrepreneu Re: Is getting a formal education worthwhile for entrepreneu - Knowledge in whatever form is valuable. Its not just about usefulness in the business that you plan to start. The knowledge that you gain via an education system definitely is not enough for an entrepreneur because Facts that you will face in your role as an entrepreneur will be much different than what you have learnt. But having an education will definitely equip you with getting the leads in handling situations. So my suggestion is that you continue with your studies and gain as much knowledge you can. You are already aware that the learnings you make can be applied on the Website. Same also applies for all your other learnings. The only thing is you will have to wait for the time to apply what you have learnt.
