A SHARPER MIND/BRAIN --(To Reduce Stress Level)
Many studies have underlined the importance of exercise in reducing stress level. Studies also show that aerobic exercise is an excellent way of keeping our brains young and healthy. Professor Arthur and his colleagues at the University of Illinois, one of the foremost exercise and health researchers in humans have proved two critical findings: Fit people have sharper brains. People, who are out of shape but get into shape, sharpen up their brains. Kramer says that working out makes you clever and it does so at all stages of life. Professor Robert Winston of the BBC series says that research has shown that when people aged over 60 to 75 perform a gentle walking regimen, their memory, judgement and planning abilities improve compared to adults who do other forms of exercise. Professor Craig Mahoney, dean and professor of applied sport psychology at the University of Wolverhampton indicates that exercise certainly improves memory. Animal studies have shown that, among other brain benefits, aerobic exercise increases capillary development in the brain that means more blood supply- a big requirement for brain health. It seems that it is never too late to start exercising your brain.
So exercise besides being good for your body, as emphasised in the chapter on Physical Health in my book, Achieving a Healthy Balanced Life! can sharpen your mind / brain also
