HELPFUL SUGGESTIONS FOR MANAGING WORK

1. Time is a finite commodity. Spend it at your workplace, and you won’t have much time for your social life and relaxation.
2. Manage your time better and plan ahead. Develop a system that works for you and not against you. Be strict-when you have worked the number of hours in accordance with your ‘System’, pack up your things in preparation for the next day, and leave the workplace.
3. Prioritise the tasks you need to complete each day. Carry out the most pressing jobs first and then turn your attention to the other ones.
4. Be assertive and say ‘NO’ if you are being asked to do more than you can manage within a time scale. But say it with a smile. If the boss persists, ask the person to let you put aside a project or a task you were working on.
5. Delegate if you are in authority. You can’t do every thing. Train and trust those for whom you are responsible.
6. Share responsibilities with your colleagues.
