REGULAR EXERCISE

There is a big gulf between knowing you should be more active and actually making exercise a habit. If you are not in the fitness mode, then most probably the gulf is littered with your personal exercise barriers that stop you from sticking to an exercise programme. The biggest barrier for most of us is simply getting started.

You do not have to leave the house every day to exercise. You can invite a friend round and do an exercise video in your own house. You can put some music and dance or do the exercises to the music. Enlist a person who will help you and not hinder you to achieve your goal. Mutual support will do wonders to your motivation and morale. Try stomach-crunching exercises at every opportunity, practise holding your stomach in at all times. Young people in India used to tie a string around their upper arms to tell them if their biceps and triceps were expanding. Tying a string around your waist will remind you to haul the muscles back as it will bite when you let your stomach flop.
