Living The Life You Have

Living The Life You Have

"We must be willing to get rid of the life we've planned, so as to have the life that is waiting for us."

-Anonymous I have to start by saying that I don’t totally agree with this quote. I don’t think we have to completely get rid of the life we have planned. I believe more that we should learn to actually live the life we have while we work towards the life we want. We must learn how to not let what we want entirely control the life that we are currently living.

I guess my point is that if we spend our life only focusing on what we want, we can miss all the wonderful things we currently have. I spent many years living that way and as I look back now, it makes me sad that I missed out on some wonderful opportunities.

How are you living your life right now? Is everything you do centered on your career or the chance that you just might hit it big this month? Do you miss out on other joys in your life because you are allowing your job to control you?

Now I know that it is important to strive for success. And I know that often it requires many long hours and hard work. But don’t wait until things are just the way you want them before you take the time to enjoy other aspects of your life. I want to encourage you to think about how you can live and enjoy the life you currently have while you work towards the life that you desire.

I am a certified life coach through Coach Training Alliance, which is an accredited program by the International Coach Federation. I have a BA in Psychology with an emphasis in Counseling and an area of concentration in Social Work. I also have a MA in both Elementary and Secondary Counseling. As a school counselor for 10 yrs, I spent much of my time coaching students through identifying who they wanted to be and what they wanted to do with their futures. I worked with them to set and attain the goals they needed to get there. I then made my own transition to coaching as a career after staying home with my children for several years. As a skilled listener, I possess the intuition, critical thinking and analytical skills to communicate and inspire people to move forward in their lives. I have training in how to start and market a business as well as experience in creating three businesses of my own.
