Time for Self

You need to remember to take time for yourself - time to do everything or do nothing at all. Time to touch base with the person who you can’t live without – YOU!

Stop. Check in. Listen. Take time to be alone, to just think, to process the day to day schedule of your life that often seems to be on auto-pilot. There never seem to be enough hours in the day, days in the week, weeks in the month, and months in the year. As we age, time seems to go faster and faster. It is an illusion that is manifest in our subconscious, waiting to be proven incorrect. Sometimes we just have to sit back and remember that everything gets done, in its own time. You just have to be realistic as to what gets done and when.

But, you always need to schedule some time for yourself into the equation. If you don’t, the energy you need to complete all else will simply wane. You need to nurture yourself first in order to truly nurture others well. You need time to yourself to help your mind, body and spirit move toward balance and alignment. Time to yourself will allow you to be at peace with yourself, if only for an hour here or there.

Try to something you want to do – daily. It doesn’t have to be an hour. Start with 15 minutes just for you. Make it something you can enjoy. Let it refresh your mind and recharge your spirit. Time will always be of the essence. That is a certainty that you can always count on! We might as well learn to take some of that precious time for ourselves.

Ask yourself… What have I always wanted to do just for me? Listen to your complaints as well as your wishes. And remember that when you make time for yourself, you just might find that you want to make time for others.

Books that should be written Books that should be written - [quote:1m0dcpd7]"The Idiots Guide To Sticking With One Thing At A Time and Not Doing Something New All The Time" [/quote:1m0dcpd7] I myself am a 'constructive' procrastinator... I don't know if I'm alone in this. I have about six or seven projects I'm working on at any given time. I get one project almost done... then my interest is piqued by another project and I work on that... I get burnt out and move to another...I know I do this so I have it arranged such that once I get bored or burnt out with one project, I can step right back into project 1 - or 2 or 3, and get that a little bit more done before moving on to something else. As long as you're organized and know where all your reference material/idea sheets are when you're ready to get back to work on each project, it should be fine. I also find that by stepping away from a project - I still work on it in the recesses of my mind so that when I go back to it - it's with some good ideas that I wouldn't have had if I'd continued on with it originally. Maybe I should write a book on how to Procrastinate Constructively... I've actually thought about doing that...because most people procrastinate, don't they...and very few are ever able to stop.
