I was listening to a recording by Earl Nightingale the other day, I head this story, “Out of 100 men who start out at age 25, by the time they get to 65, the following will happen.

1 will be rich.

4 will be financially independent.

54 will be broke

Why?”

No matter what you do in life.

No matter what your job/function/career.

From CEO to stay at home mom/dad.

From high level engineer to clerk at the local store.

No matter what, to be successful, you have to sell yourself.

Face it.

Believe it.

Grasp it.

Make it part of your life and watch what happens.

Success in all things comes to the person who is able to sell himself/herself and their ideas, desires, wants and needs.

If you really want that job, then you have to sell yourself. The most important skill for the job seeker. The most important thing I can share with those who have been out of work for a while. Study selling, learn how to sell yourself. Then watch what happens when you apply it.

Successful entrepreneurs get it. They know that they have to sell themselves. Not just their product or service either. They have to sell their concept to investors. They have to sell their credit worthiness to vendors. They have to sell their company to the people they really want on their team.

People in successful marriages get it. They have to sell each other, all the time. You might not like the concept, but ask any successful couple and see if it is not true.

People hate the word, “sales”. It puts them right in the mind of that used car sales person. That is not what we are talking about, clear it out.

Successful ministries have to sell. I know most ministers hate when I say that, but look at the ministries that work? The ones that are growing. Look at why so many mainline churches today are in decline. They have not sold people.

If you cannot sell, you are going to have a hard time finding the success you want.

Once you grab this concept of sales, your life will completely change.

The first step, you have to accept the concept that you have to sell you.

Yes, you have to be good at what you do.

Yes, you have to work hard.

Yes you have to do all the other things.

But guess what, you can do all that and still not be successful because you have failed to sell anyone on the concept that you are the right person at the right time. That what you think is critical. That your ideas are the ones they should go with. Just look at things around you and tell me I am wrong?

Coming out of the software industry I will tell you there are thousands of great products that never got to market. Products that are actually better than many things on the market. So why did they died on the hard drive. Simple, because the developer was unable to convince anyone of how good the product was. They may have had the greatest product, but so what. They were unable to sell anyone.

Watch what happens when you apply sales principles to what you do.

Re: private label rights Re: private label rights - Don't think of PLR as just articles or written work. Also consider actual products. Example if you were to create or have someone create a "backlink creator", you can sell the PLR to that. In this case it can be easier to make more money and faster. Instead of you having to market and sell something for $20 sell the PLR to 100 people for $100 then they can sell for whatever they want. If you were to get 100 people to buy it at $20 that is $2000 for you. Now if you were to sell the PLR to your product to 100 people for $100, obviously that is better... So if PLR is done properly you can make a lot of money... I have some things I will be getting into in 2009 that relate to this subject, so I will share as I progress.

What do you have to work with in the way of resources. 4. How much do you need to sell it. 5. What do you need to sell it. 6. What makes your product different to everyone else’s? I saw your design, you're a talented graphic artist, but immediately selling a design featuring only your logo without an existing market presence to back it may prove to be a mistake. Have you thought about offering a range of apparel, or even offering custom designs to people as an option?

Some wholesalers sell cheaper products than others, so it's definitely something you want to take into consideration. You want to get the best BULK cost possible for the products you need to sell. The smaller the cost, the more you can buy and the more you can sell it for. Come tax time, you'll have enough money in your pocket to satisfy the costs of the store's taxes.
