Article Overview: We all like to say, “wow, I would like to be where you are”. But are you willing to do what I did to get there? Success means doing something. Action creates success. Here are some simple tips

Success means doing something

An eagle was sitting on a tree resting, doing nothing.

A small rabbit saw the eagle and asked him, “can I also sit like you and do nothing”?

The eagle answered, “sure, why not”.

So the rabbit sat on the ground below the eagle and rested.

All of a sudden a fox appeared, jumped on the rabbit and ate it.

Moral of the story:

To be sitting and doing nothing, you must be sitting very, very high up.

John Maxwell asks the questions in his book, Winning with People:

“You may want to do what I do, but would you like to do what I did in order to do what I do”?

What a question.

Have you ask yourself that question when you look at the success of others?

When you look at what people accomplish.

We all like to say, “wow, I would like to be where you are”.

Just like the rabbit in the story above, wanted to be just like the eagle, but never paid the price the eagle did to get there.

Success means doing something.

Action creates success.

Here are some simple tips

1. Ask for help.

Stop going around in circles with yourself and getting no place. How many of us just keep spinning in place instead of asking? Ask. Worst case the answer is no, and you have to ask again.

2. Spend money.

Nothing important is free, or even cheap. Don’t' hesitate because you have to spend some money to get the things you need. Just do it, Stretch, take the chance. Remove from your vocabulary – “I can't afford it” and replace it with, “how can I make this happen” .

3. Spend time.

Nothing just happens. Yes, you have to spend your own time and not get paid for it now, or maybe ever. If you don't put time into it, it doesn't happen. Most successful people have put

more time into it than they ever through they would have to. But look at the results.

4. Spend energy

Going after what you want in life is draining and takes a lot of energy. Why do you think most people never get what they want it life. They give up. They lack the energy.

5. Sell you partner

You have to be able to sell you partner on the idea. So many times they really want to help, but first they have to be convinced. Don't try and roll over them. Get them to buy in.

6. Take a risk

You think you want to do something, but when you look at the risk, you give up. Success requires risk taking. If you are not willing to take the risk, then find something else to do. Nothing you really want is risk free. It just doesn't happen.

7. Believe

Never go into anything unless you believe it is going to work. That is the problem today and I have seen it for years in the business world. “Well, if it doesn't work, then I will just get a job.” Take the job now. You have to have passion to make it – passion comes from believing it will work. Most really successful people have been way, way, way down.

8. Look at how far you have come.

All that most people do is look at how far they have to go. That is why most people stop so close to success. If you look at how far you have come, all you have gone through, all you have done. Then the rest of the journey might just not be that hard – you are almost there.

9. Listen to Successful People

Stop listening to people who have never really tired. They are always quick to give advice. But what do they know. My friend Richard's famous line,“I tired that once for a month, it did not work, so I quit”. Am I getting through? You want to create success in your life, hang out with those that know what it means.

10. Add value to others

The greatest success comes when you help another. To many people hold their cards so close they never help anyone, nor do they every find real succeed. Those who are open and help others, they will find great success. Help others all you can, then watch what happens to you.

These are just a few simple tips.

Take them in.

Use them well.

Make things happen in your life and watch out.

Honesty in your Advisory Board - While you are right, honestly means something different to each person, I take the view that each person commits to upholding the goals of the company. We do take the time to probe if something or someone doesnt 'feel' complete. That is the most important part of the discussion. Once you get to know each person its easy to see where personal preferences are put aside for the advancement of the goals. So I think a variety of all 3 options is going to be pretty much what you'll get. But the lens always has to be the goal of the company. For example, I have men on my women's leadership advisory team - they wont ever 'buy' the product, but their understanding of the market and the competitive landscape are really valuable. hope that helps. You have to figure out what honest means to YOU, and then get other people to share enough to come to an agreement on what honesty means for the group. J
Re: The Best Method for Online Marketing - Hi, I assume by your opening paragraph that you are not a newbie at this but I will only say what others have said that success can only be achieved by building a presence on the internet is a series of a lot of things done regularly over a period of time. If I had to pick three things I would say SEO of your website, article writing for submission to your site and to directories and building backlinks by whatever means suites you best but that usually means commenting on articles in other high ranking sites (type in your keywords on Google and you will see the top sites in your niche and comment on articles in those if you can), forum posts, submit your site to as many directories as you can and any means you can think of to get backlinks. regards, Mal.
Re: Fed rate cuts . . . - Obviously tougher lending practices can be good because more careful screening of a borrower and the business they want to puchase as well as higher standards for what qualifes them means less loan failures. BUT it makes it harder forthe avarage joe whos trying to get ahead and realize their dream of business ownership and independence much harder. It also affects financing consultants and lending brokers because less prequalifications means less loan applications which leads to less revenue and that's simply not good. It can put people out of business and that's not good for economy.

The sky's the limit and I think you should go for the gold in everything you do. Anything is possible! However, with that being said, I think you should probably start with a more realistic goal. Getting to the top 1,000 basically means that there are only 999 (or less) sites in the entire world with more traffic than yours. It means your site would be one of the biggest, most popular, and highest valued sites in the world. I'm not saying you can't get there. You can! But it's probably best to set a more realistic goal of something like 100,000 and then work your way up from there.
