Taking Time to Think
Are you taking time to think?
That is why today we are coming

I am down on the beach today.
Down at the Jersey Shore just looking
out and just taking time to think about
my life, business, career and family.
Just taking some quiet, calm, simple,
straight time to let my mind open up
and take it all in.
When was the last time you did that in
an atmosphere where you really could
think and listen and just see what
comes
to you? Be honest. When was the last
time your mind could be free to open up
and see what comes in?
We are so wrapped up in our daily lives
that we just do, do, do and never take
time to think. We are a runaway train,
just out of control, going t
o fast to focus. To fast to see. To
fast to
smell the roses.
We may take a little time to actually
create our goals each year, but the
question is, is it just another task
that
has to be done. Just get it taken care
of,
finished complete, so we can move on.
Never really taking the time to look
deep
inside and see what is really there.
If you really want to build a plan for
your
business or life or career or family,
then
you need to get some space and time to
let yourself relax and open up. Set
your
mind free. Just open up and see what
comes next.
Today I am down on the beach (see more

lead
me to the next step, the next direction
for my life.
The air is clear, the sky is beautiful.
I am
think about nothing special but just
letting
things come to me. When was the last
time,
if ever, you were here?
By the time I am done, I will have a
better
feel and understanding of where I want
to
go with my life, career, business and
family.
I will be ready to really review and
make
the changes to my goals and plans that
I
need to.
I urge you, please, just take some time
this
summer and really do this.
The beach is my favorite place in all
the
world – so it works for me. What is
yours –
take a trip there and see what happens.
Make
the plans to do it today, right now.
Do it, or
it might never happen.
We are approaching the end of the first
half of the year – how are you doing
and
how will you do the second half of the
year? Are you really on the way to
your
best year ever? What is standing in
your
way? What can you do?
Make the commitment today, you have
the time – if you do this I can
guarantee
you one thing – you will see so much
clearer, you will be so much more
focused,
you will be so much more successful.

- Hi Evan,
I was curious to know what you'd suggest and I think you gave excellent advice. Taking a year out to try and start your own business is a great idea. Taking a year out after college is a well established option so I guess it doesn't prejudice your chances of getting a job should you wish to do so later on; it probably improves your chances if you've been getting valuable experience of managing a business and of course, if all goes well, you won't need to find out.
Definitely a video for my website.

- Hi Chris,
That's a great tip. The real benefit to running an affiliate marketing is getting other people to promote your business for you. Taking a pro-active approach as you suggest will certainly help.
Finding creativity
- Great topic Andy! For me it's:
- Going for a walk (I always try to get out at least once during the day)
- Taking a shower
- Reading business magazines (especially Inc and Business 2.0)
- Late at night (I'm more productive / creative at night than during the day)
- Relaxing with a drink at the bookstore
