Connecting With Your Intuition and Inspiration

Written by: Marcie Hunt

Article Overview: Delicious inspiration gives color and texture to our dreams- guiding us to mysterious and delightful adventures along our path of life. Marcie Hunt Where does intuition come from? If you are spiritually based, it comes from a higher source of wisdom. Some people prefer to believe that it is their “higher self” or soul speaking to them internally. Others believe that intuition stems from the “right” side of the brain where one can easily access such qualities as intuition, inspiration, creativity and non-judgment.

Connecting With Your Intuition and Inspiration

Are you searching for a solution to a challenging situation? Do you wish to connect fully with your highest desires or intentions so you can make positive, healthy and creative decisions?

Tuning in to your intuition will give you the answers you are looking for. If you have ever found a parking place through your intuition, that same inner antennae can guide you to important life decisions.

Or perhaps you have attempted to logically come up with a solution to a personal challenge, and suddenly a fabulous and creative idea popped up in your mind? You may notice that intuition comes in fragments and may not initially "make sense." Trust in your insights, and the complete picture will gradually appear.

Intuition works in many ways. At times, it may sound like an “inner voice” gently presenting you with a new idea or guidance. The trick is to listen, to trust, and to follow up on the intuitive suggestions you have received!

It is important to allow your mind to rest from time to time. The best way is to meditate. Meditating gives your mind the space and silence it needs to allow intuitive or inspirational thoughts to enter your mind. It also generates peace and a sense of well-being.

Find a quiet place, close your eyes and begin listening to your breathing. This helps you to remain focused on space and serenity, instead of the busy thoughts and internal conversations we all experience during the day. You can simply tell your mind to let go of any distracting thoughts as they come up, and return to focusing on your breathing. Inhale peace, and exhale any thoughts or tension that may occur.

If you find it too challenging to meditate during a busy day, you may access your intuition by asking yourself a question. Then sit in silence for several minutes. Even if you don't get a response immediately, you will most likely receive information at a later time. Or, someone may sow the seeds of a creative solution, or lead you to a situation or person that can help you on your path.

Some people who are sports oriented find that inspiration comes to them when they are running or working out, golfing, etc. When your mind is not focused on trying to create a response logically, your intuitive mind is able to participate.
Ideally, you will first follow your intuition when making important choices. Then you will use your logical mind to act out the solution, by following the steps indicated by your intuitive mind.

If you believe in a Universal Intelligence it is easy to trust that the answers and insight you receive are for your highest good. Universal Intelligence knows what the big picture is for you. If you allow yourself to be guided and follow the messages you receive, your life will flow with ease. The Universe will provide you with answers and guidance that you can handle in the present moment; revealing information that you can fit into your life and current belief systems.

Laurel's Story

Laurel is a friend and client. She has a warm, dynamic personality. At a certain time in her life she was at a crossroads in her career. Although she knew doors would open for her, she didn't know what she really wanted to pursue. She felt confused and “stuck.”

First, I asked Laurel to write down everything she loved to do, which included her hobbies of traveling and home decorating. Several days a week she visualized a job suited to her people skills and PR talents. She wanted her own office and varied activities so she could be "out and about." She imagined a positive team of co-workers without a corporate atmosphere. She also envisioned time spent with friends and loved ones.

Laurel responded to several job offers in Public Relations and at Real Estate brokerage firms. At one point she had three offers. She felt confused. So I suggested that she ask her higher self what to do and to clearly guide her to the best job for her at that time.

That weekend, she stopped by a boutique she was not familiar with. She began speaking with the owner about her situation-something that she normally would not do. The owner told Laurel that she was personal friends with the man who was going to interview Laurel for one of the jobs. She suggested that Laurel mention the owner’s name, and to have an informational interview so he could give her friendly advice and input.

After her pre-interview, Laurel could see that the company hired almost exclusively high powered aggressive salesmen and few women. She was dissuaded. Her style was outgoing and friendly but not aggressive, and she liked having creative projects rather than a rigid and traditional approach.

By following her intuition, Laurel was clearly guided to her best career choice in real estate, where she was also able to use her talents in decorating and showing homes.

The human, limited vision can only piece together part of the puzzle. As you let go of your personal control and ego, you build greater trust in your intuition and in universal guidance. It may seem difficult or even scary at first. But remember that your higher self wants only what is the very best for you.

The very best is always the most joyful, powerful or strengthening outcome for you. Spiritual guidance is always positive and beneficial for everyone. It is never harsh or demanding in tone. These very qualities can help you to decipher if an intuitive message you receive is of the highest intention.

Using your intuition or inspiration on a consistent daily basis will bring you great satisfaction. It's like learning how to ride a bicycle. At first, you practice a little bit, with some hesitancy. The more you practice, the easier it becomes, and soon your intuition becomes an integral part of how you function and make decisions every day.

By projecting your desires and allowing the universe to respond to you, you will start to notice that many things happen for a reason. You can watch for "coincidences" that guide you to take another step, and another step, and so on. Even small incidents can steps to something greater or more exciting. Ask your higher self each step along the way, if this is a good choice or action to take. Go with your "gut" feelings.

Sometimes following intuition will feel like a process of learning and growth, as you are preparing to move into a higher level of skills and personal development and completion.

If you have felt at times that you are forcing things to happen, you will soon find that trusting your intuition helps you to adapt to people and situations that are more appropriate in achieving life goals. As your own goals are met, others benefit by achieving their goals as well.

Consequently, you will find that others automatically desire to work with you. Life takes on new meaning and fullness as you begin to feel the synchronicity, the beauty, and the order of your world shared with others.

I have found several affirmations that solidify this process.
"I am easily guided by my higher wisdom."
"The universal spirit guides me to my right place now. I have unlimited prosperity, perfect health, and a fulfilling love life."

MONTHLY AFFIRMATION:
"I trust in my inner wisdom, and my life is unfolding perfectly."

MONTHLY LIFE TECHNIQUE:

Allow time to create space in your mind. If an intuitive thought comes up, notice how you react. Do you tell yourself it’s a silly , illogical or outrageous idea? Or do you give it credence, and follow up?

This month, see if you can open up to even greater trust in your higher wisdom, and take the risk of acting upon inner guidance.

Re: What inspires you? Re: What inspires you? - Inspiration is nothing it is what you called to do? Some work for money, some work for satisfaction, some work because they have priorities in life. It is the passion to do something for achievement or to show that you can do it by using one's talent. I know there are people who are doing great things with their limited skill sets. So, my view point about inspiration is to Dream Big and try to achieve it. I would rather add "Listen to your self". Listen to Inner guide and follow it. You will reach great heights. Robert
