5 Winning Ways to Confident Body Language
I'm not into boring you to an early grave with long winded articles! I would much prefer to give you the facts and practical steps to increase the success in your life.
Let's look at Body Language and the 5 steps that you should follow to have a really positive impact in terms of the body language you use and reading that of others. Of course, if you are interested in the theory, then by all means drop me a line!
Here we go:
STEP 1 -
Manage every second of a first meeting with someone. First impressions count and hey cannot be easily corrected.
Putting things right is much harder than if you got them right in the first place!
STEP 2 -
When talking never stand when somebody else is sitting unless it is your intention to dominate or make them feel intimidated.
If someone comes up to you when you are sitting down and wants to talk, then either pull up a chair for them or stand up yourself.
STEP 3 -
Look out for people who are not telling the truth!
The tell tale signs are that they have fewer than normal gestures and increases self-touching.
This normally includes hands rubbing together, touching ears, noses and cheeks.
Touching the nose and eyes are especially revealing.
STEP 4 -
Use a head tilt, together with eye-contact and a warm smile, on first meeting to increase the warmth and impact of your presence.
Use the same gestures when you are asking for help or co-operation.
STEP 5 -
An important but often neglected piece of detail is when you shake hands.
Keep your hand dry and apply moderate pressure.
Make sure it is not like a wet lettuce!
