Beginning with End in Mind

Imagine that you want to build a house. Do you start by putting bricks on top of each other or do you first envision and plan out what kind of house you want to build? The latter no doubt.

Building your life is no different. You achieve the best results by beginning with the end in mind.

While reading this you may think 'This is old news'. And yes, it may be to many of you. But then I am asking you: Do you put your wisdom to actual use? Are you translating your knowledge into action?

If your answer is 'NO' you may want to start by answering these questions:

What kind of life do I want to live?

• What really matters to ME?

• What and where do I want to contribute?

• Where would I like to make shifts/changes?

• What is the next step that I need to take?

Take a good look at your answers and pick your priorities. Focus on a few important things rather then spreading your time across too many activities.

At the same time I suggest that you become proactive and put together a plan of action. Discipline is key. Nothing much will happen if you do not commit to follow your own insights and advise.

If you feel that you need help with accountability and focus then you may want to consider working with a coach like myself.

Many, many people I coach know exactly what they need to do to achieve their goals. They know all the theory. However time and again they let themselves down when it comes to translating theory into practice. They have bricks lying all over the place and beat themselves up, because the house doesn’t get finished.

And I ASK AGAIN – What is the outcome you are looking for; the end? What do you need to do to get there? Do you need to shift your thinking or your perceptions about yourself? Do you need to become more clear about your priorities?

Discipline, Act, discipline, act….sounds monotonous? Never mind, just do it for now. Soon you will see results and then enthusiasm and a sense of achievement will replace the monotony.

What is the end you have in mind?

Make the plan and start following, placing each brick in the right place.

With my best wishes for your success and if you need a helping hand then send me an email.

As for me, it took me near enough an whole hour. Mind you, I had it on the speakerphone and it was not a timed call, ie it was free. I was doing something else during that time. Regards Beat[/quote:2rl7ve6q] Hi Beat, I was recently put on hold and had to wait 40 minutes before I got through to a live person to take my tennis court booking (and by then, most of the good time slots were already taken). For a $194/Winter Season Membership, I expect a little better service than that.
