It’s that time of year again!
For some of us, it’s time to dust off boxes of decorations from years gone by and make our homes sparkle with twinkling lights and colorfully decorated trees. All the while, the wonderful aroma of freshly baked cookies coming from the kitchen, and the familiar smell of just-cut Christmas trees wafting through the air. Of course there are all those holiday parties to attend, or maybe even host.
Have I mentioned shopping? I can’t forget the shopping – you know, fighting through crowded malls looking for just the right gift for that special someone. Along with the joy of circling the parking lot for what seems an eternity, hoping to find a spot. On those rare days when the parking angels seem to guide us to a space being vacated near an entrance, it’s as though we’ve won the lottery.
Ahhh, the holidays!
In spite of the crowded malls, limited parking, and last seasons tangled lights - It really is my favorite time of year.
This is also the time of year I reflect on my life. What happened in the year? What joys or sorrows did I face? What goals did I achieve? What seemed to work? What didn’t? What did I learn about life and myself?
As this year winds down and another new year peeks around the corner, it’s the perfect time to ask, “What do I want, and what am I doing about it?” I invite you to ask the same questions.
When was the last time you considered what you really want for your life?
I hope you will join me in not only asking yourself these important questions, but in taking action, too! Make a commitment to pursuing your goals, hopes and dreams in 2008. Make a commitment to yourself. After all, you’re worth it!
