Will You Choose to "Wake Up!" to Your Life?

We all know life isn’t fair and sometimes we just have to live the hand we’ve been dealt, right? Until eventually succumbing to a conclusion something like: This isn’t how I envisioned my life - but here I am. I made my bed so I have to lay in it. This is just the way it is, deal with it…etc.

Well I’m here to challenge that kind of thinking. And to tell you, without hesitation, your life can be different…if you choose it to be.

What does a day in your life look like?

Are you completely “stressed out,” unable to find a single spare moment to take a deep breath and relax? Is this having a negative impact on your closest relationships with your friends, family, and loved ones?

Or, do you go through your days on auto-pilot, feeling neither happy nor unhappy, neither excited nor unexcited about your life…your personal relationships, job, career, etc? Do you just go about your day, week, month, year, with a “status quo” mindset and way of being?

Do you wish it was different?

If you’re fully satisfied living either one of these scenarios, more power to you. Personally, I would be miserable with either option. And that’s the real beauty of it; we have the ability to choose how we want our life to be – how we want to be.

So, what if your life could be different than it is right now?

What if you could stop feeling stressed-out and overwhelmed? What if you could stop operating on auto-pilot and take control? Would you?

You can, you know…you have a choice!

You can either “Wake Up!” to your life, or you can roll over and hit the snooze button again.

I’ve found that life is much more interesting not to mention satisfying, after choosing to “Wake Up!” It means that I’m living as an active participant in my own life, not sitting on the sidelines merely allowing my life to happen, playing a “victim” of circumstance.

Often times it takes a major shake-up or life-changing event like an illness, loss of a loved-one, or loss of a job, to help us “Wake Up!” to being fully aware, present, and engaged in our own life.

I hope it won’t take such drastic measures for you to “Wake Up!” to your life.

Make a choice to stop pressing the snooze button on your life. Disengage the auto-pilot controls and make a choice to start living your life as YOU want to live it.

I encourage you to start every day by asking yourself, “What is one thing I can do today to help me have the life I want?” And then do it!

The Second Life Platform The Second Life Platform - Greetings! I'm not sure how many of you have heard of or are sensitive to Second Life and its related entities. However, Second Life is a fantastic platform to mimmick real life business operations in a real currency based economy. There are plenty of successful stories for creative individuals, but I'd highly suggest doing your research and appreciating Second Life for what it is, and what it isn't.

So are you currently a member? And more importantly, have you tried to open a store front in that virtual world?
Re: Charge what you're worth Re: Charge what you're worth -
People will pay you what you ask. Very few will ever up the price. You are the one who decided what you are worth. The key is that we believe our services are worth the price we are asking.[/quote:292ze3jd] Hi Tami, You're absolutely right. In "Think and Grow Rich", Jessie B. Rittenhouse says "For Life is a just employer, He gives you what you ask, But once you have set the wages, Why, you must bear the task. I worked for a menial's hire Only to learn, dismayed , That any wage I had asked of Life, Life would have willingly paid" (Napoleon Hill 35). I think the same can be said when setting prices on eBay or Craigslist, especially when people are trying to haggle you.
Re: Favorite Christmas movies Re: Favorite Christmas movies -
I do have to say I've never liked[i:1rxsgr0t] It's A Wonderful Life[/i:1rxsgr0t]. He spends all his life having his hopes and dreams shattered, feeling miserable, and its only at the end of his life that he can look back and realize how many friends he has, etc. But that doesn't change the fact that up until that point he was miserable![/quote:1rxsgr0t] I love the sentimentality around watching that movie with your Mom! Chtistmas is made up of all those sentimental things. "It's A Wonderful Life" is all about perspective, much in the same way that Scrooge is 'realigned' in Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol" - which I listen to on CD every year (sometimes twice!) Happy Christmas Everyone! Regards Martin
