Living in the Moment

I am a big advocate of learning how to live in the flow of the moment.

Through life experience, education and awareness, I have observed three kinds of people. Those who dwell in the past, those who thrive in the moment and those who prepare for the future.

Most of us hop around from one reality to the next, but overall we are creatures of habit and tend to spend most of our time in one form of reality or another.

Past Dwellers seem to be in some sort of feedback loop. Glory days, past failures, hurt, shame and youth. Some still looking for approval, others in many cases, are Survivors. A great deal of these folks wear their inner survivor like a badge of honor.

Honestly, just because a person may have some crappy ghosts in their past does not mean they need to continue living in survival mode.

When we realize that we are special, unique, and worthy of great accomplishments, we no longer need to reside in the back story. We can start experiencing today by letting go of any attachments to our past. Forgive, leave the burden behind, allow for positive change.

When one door closes another door opens; but we so often look so long and so regretfully upon the closed door, that we do not see the ones which open for us. -Alexander Graham Bell

Present Dwellers seem to have things figured out. They are experiencing life as it is at this very moment. They understand that TODAY is the day that matters. They get that this is the day with the greatest potential for accomplishment.

No matter where our thoughts travel, time is always Now ... Not yesterday, last week, last month, last year. It is not tomorrow, next week or next year. Time is always RIGHT NOW ...
Choosing to be in the moment allows us to maximize the opportunities of Today.

There is nothing worth more than this day! -Goethe

Future Dwellers / over-achievers, are so busy creating what they want next year, in 5 years or ten years that they seem to be bumping around from one To-Do list to the next, in order to get to the Holy Grail of rewards.

Future Dwellers tend to think multi-tasking is a special talent.

I know, I used to be that person. I could multi task like a maniac.

Oh yeah ...
Speaking from YEARS of practice in the game of DOING vs. Being.

Before learning to be present, I would send bills without postage, put a cereal boxes in the refrigerator, milk in the cupboard, and in the fit of an obsessive compulsive cleaning fury, lose half of what ever it was I put away to reduce clutter.

Thankfully, multi-tasking has become difficult. Being Present for each task is much more rewarding. Learning to ask for help is a bonus jewel.

At some point, normally during some form of early mid-life curiosity, we are supposed to figure out that life is all about the journey ... The experiences along the way that form our reality. We are supposed to know that we are here to learn more about ourselves and the world around us ... one day at a time.

We must be willing to let go of the life we have planned, so as to accept the life that is waiting for us.
- Joseph Campbell

If any of this is resonating with you, please consider that the time is NOW to:

* Release yourself from the past and let go of the monsters under the bed.
* Allow your self to be a Human Being instead of a Human Doing.
* Let go of the ball and chain beliefs that others imprinted on your life.
* Forget about the RIGID five and ten year plan.

When you allow your self to experience this moment - You know, the one where you are thirsty and make a cup of tea and take the time to really savor and enjoy it, versus quaffing it down while paying bills, picking up the kitchen and reading the latest copy of ... insert magazine title here - you will start to understand the magic of life's little treasures.

Get on with the business of living your life today on your terms. Release yourself from fear by focusing on abundance, gratitude, opportunity and love.

You are more courageous than you know.

Re: What Do you Prefer More - Time or Money Re: What Do you Prefer More - Time or Money - Living the moment. I am living the moment since 4 years ago, after the docs found cancer. They removed it, of course, and since then I just do what i want. Jumping from an airplane was one thing, that was great. Now I want to fly to the moon. I need money for that.
Re: How does an entrepreneur stay energized? Re: How does an entrepreneur stay energized? - Hi there, This subject is not only for entrepreneurs. Everybody can benefit from this, that is the reason why 'Healthy Living and Eating' is a multi billion Dollar business. Often I smile, because so much is written about it. So many different business are blooming and doing well. Whilst there is so much knowledge and opportunity to be healthy and well, the need is still growing. There is so much that could be said. The cheapest form of energy is gained by a good sleep.
Inspiration for Logos Inspiration for Logos - When a Buddhist looks at a Tibetan flag one of the first thing that pops in their mind is admiration respect. After assimilating that they keep thinking and repression might come next. Living as part of a communist nation may bring lots of feelings. Chastity, prayer, humility all these virtues are all mixed. When you want a client to think of your Logo may this not be an example of what he thinks. Let its all be positive and with hope of something better coming.
Re: Do you have an affinity to making money??? Re: Do you have an affinity to making money??? - Hi ideasuniversity, I think we all enjoy making money and hopefully using it wisely, LOL. It is interesting to see that you are getting involved with Aloe Vera products as these seem to have remarkable advantages for health and wellbeing for many people. I almost became involved here a few years back with a company which was called something like Forever Living products who seemed to be very active but ultimately I didn’t follow it up but I can understand your enthusiasm for the products as you can get anything from Aloe Vera toothpaste up over, the range of products is incredible, best of luck with your efforts, regards, Mal.
Re: What is your biggest challenge? Today? Re: What is your biggest challenge? Today? - [quote="GT Bulmer":10b1rb6o]sounds like keeping one foot on the dock and one in the boat, doesn't it?) I've had suggestions of interest from other high profile potential clients but I have chosen not to pursue them at this time.[/quote:10b1rb6o] Hi GT, Who knows, perhaps you'll need to take that leap of faith and "burn your bridges" (of escape/going back) like Dale Carnegie suggests in "How to Stop Worrying and Start Living" to get to the next level and reach your income goal. Complacency and comfort can be death.
