The Right To Be Rich
The Right To Be Rich
According to Wattles a person develops to the fullest by making use of things. These things could be material such as machines, cars, consumer products or they could be a college education and our society is so organized that it takes money to acquire these things. Therefore according to Wattles "All advancement must be the science of getting rich."
So the first thing one must do in pursuing wealth is to acknowledge that he or she has an unalienable right to be rich. If the purpose of nature is to advance, evolve, grow and reach it's fullest expression of life, then it is your right and obligation to be rich. Everyone naturally wants to be rich to be able to live life to the fullest. Nobody should ever be content to just get by. In fact according to Wattles To be content is sinful!
By being rich we not only enhance our own lives but contribute to the common good. Wattles further states: " It is perfectly right that you should desire to be rich…..It is perfectly right that you should give your best attention to the science of getting rich, for it is the noblest and most necessary of all studies. If you neglect this study, you are derelict in your duty to yourself, to God and humanity, for you can render to God and humanity no greater service that to make the most of yourself.
The first lesson in the science of getting rich is to realize that you have a right to be rich. All of nature has an inherent drive to increase. That study the science of getting rich is the duty of all men and woman. By being rich you enrich not only yourself but all humanity.
