Let me handle that brain surgery you need

A few days ago I received a note from a friend who is now in the "social media business." Unfortunately, that has become one of those glamorous sounding careers that has no agreed upon qualifications. Part of her proposed service would be to write blogs for me. Just a note – while many people have ghostwriters for their blogs I have never entertained the idea. I love to write personally and have no end of ideas eager to leave my brain. Anyway – here is the first line of her promotion to me: “Dan, myself and my creative team works with small business entrepreneur's and media communicators, helping them to achieve their overall on-line and off-line strategic objectives and personal goals.” Okay, let’s just take the first phrase and break that down a little: “Dan, myself and my creative team works with small business entrepreneur's and media communicators..............." Oh, please, please stop – I can’t take any more. You’re going to WRITE for me?? If you are going to offer a product or service I would suggest you at least give the appearance of being able to deliver some semblance of quality. Don’t show up for my “chauffeured ride to the airport” on a tricycle. And don’t sell me a tune-up on my sports car when you have a plastic tool kit. Yes, I’ve often talked about how easy it is to position oneself as an “expert” but there has to be some basis for making that claim. Stick to what you know well. Don’t pretend to be something you’re not.

What’s your favorite story of someone exaggerating their talents?

The greatest gold mine in the world The greatest gold mine in the world - The greatest gold mine in the world is not in South Africa, nor in Ghanna. It is not in the cementry either as someone said. The greatest gold mine in the world is between your two ears: your brain. Every ideas stem from our thinking. this is the reason we need to think more than before. Every block buster movie come from the brain. Every invetion and software ideas comes from the brain. Think for 1 hour on your project everyday for five days in a week and do it for a month and you will see how many ideas that will come out of it to make it better and better.

I've always believed that the amount of creativity that we use also makes a large difference. I work with people who are creative and others who aren't - and there results differ from one another. Speaking of creativity, I've been amazed to find how many authors (who can be very creative in their books), but many show little to no creativity when they promote. Shri
Re: Blog For Women Entrepreneurs Re: Blog For Women Entrepreneurs - I just tooka look at it. It seems to be updated only once a week... but there's some interesting info there. Here's an interesting thing: [quote:1dom82zd]While we’ve only scratched the surface of brain study, here’s one fact we do know: a woman’s brain has four times as many connections between the left and right hemispheres as that of a man’s. Does this make women smarter or more superior than men? No. Well, some women think it does. Okay a lot of women do, but usually only after a situation involving either a road map, a Christmas tree, or jalapeno peppers.[/quote:1dom82zd]
Re: e-Commerce and e-Payment providers Re: e-Commerce and e-Payment providers - I like PayPal because of how they handle refunds. If you buy something from someone thru PayPal and there is something defective about the product, you can request a refund. If the supplier is difficult, then PayPal will "force" the supplier to issue a refund. That's the test of a good product..how do they handle things when something goes bad. It's easy to handle things when things are going well. I think the same goes for your car insurance. How good they are depends on how they behae when you have an accident. Aneshia
