Are You An "Al Bundy"?

For over ten years, the show "Married With Children" outlined the trials and tribulations of one "Al Bundy". Al was a married shoe saleman, who had possibly the longest string of bad luck in recorded T.V. history.

Al's one shining claim to fame, was that he once scored "four touchdowns in a single (football) game". In high school. TWENTY PLUS YEARS AGO.

As much as Al was a likeable character. He was flawed. He lived his life firmly in the past. After all, his defining moment was long ago in his youth.

But, how about you?

Where do you live? Do you live in the past? Thinking about what was? Thinking about what you did then, and all the excuses as to why you are the way you are now? Quite frankly, I hear this type of "stinkin' thinkin'" on a daily basis.

For example...

"I remember when I used to do (fill in the blank) until...

"...I started smoking two packs a day..."

"...I had kids"...

"...I lost control of my life..."

"...I gained 100 pounds..."

"...I just gave up".

What you did or were 5, 10, 20 years ago, or in the days leading up to today no longer matters.

Stop making excuses and "get your head out of your past".

To truly be a success at any endeavor, reaching for your achievable, realistic goals, you must live and be in the moment. Not looking back.

The real question is...are you ready to do it?
