Choose Not to Participate
Written by: Billy CoxArticle Overview: Success is a choice, you can choose what you read, what you listen to, who you hang around with, and how hard you work. Zig Ziglar says "You are free to choose, but the choices you make today will determine what you will have, be and do in the tomorrows of your life." It is choice, not chance, that determines your destiny. Are you participating or are you choosing not to participate?

Choose Not to Participate
I
recently spent a fantastic weekend with a couple of top producers from
a large insurance company. Their business is way up in a down economy.
As a matter of fact, they just experienced a record quarter in sales
and recruiting.
I asked them how they managed to produce record results. They
responded by saying "we choose not to participate." I've found this
attitude to be true with top producers in all areas. While many people
predict doom and gloom and some salespeople look for every excuse in
the book to produce less, the top performers choose not to participate.
Those who choose not to participate turn off the evening news and
feed their mind with positive uplifting thoughts. They understand that
their attitude determines their altitude. Sure, they have as many
challenges as anyone else. They have objections to overcome and
rejections to deal with.
So what do they do? They work a little harder and a little smarter.
They reinvest in themselves and their knowledge and future. They attend
seminars to sharpen their skills and network with empowering people.
They choose what and who they listen to and the words they speak. They
think winning thoughts and when someone asks them how they are breaking
records in recessionary times they simply reply
"Recession, what resession,we choose not to participate
The key word is "CHOOSE." Because success is a choice, you can
choose what you read, what you listen to, who you hang around with, and
how hard you work. Zig Ziglar says "You are free to choose, but the
choices you make today will determine what you will have, be and do in
the tomorrows of your life."
It is choice, not chance, that determines your destiny. Are you
participating or are you choosing not to participate? It's your choice
and it's a decision you have to make daily.
I challenge you to dig deep down inside and make up your mind that
you are not going to participate in a pity party. You have to decide
that you will never settle for less than your very best anymore. You
must rise up above today's challenges and be a leader by making the
right choices.
By choosing not to participate in life's negativity, you actually
can make better choices that will contribute to your success. It's is
your choice to participate in success and to be in the top 10 percent
in your field. When you reach this level of success, you get to
experience 90 percent of the wealth and associated successes.
Of course, nothing happens without taking massive focused action.
The top performers take massive focused action each and every day. They
work with purpose and passion and a strong belief in their products and
services. And, those who choose not to participate are the ones who
eventually achieve the results they desire.
It is your choice!
To your success,
Billy Cox

Re: How can I promote my site?
- [quote="smithndavis":2qlpkdk9]Do following to promote your site :
1) Use SEO techniques
2) Use more backlinks
3) Get a Google Sitemap on your blog to help to get it fully indexed
4) Participate in Related Forum Boards
5) Convert some of your existing articles into podcasts[/quote:2qlpkdk9]
Again, I agree with all these. The fifth point is especially good, I think. I'd add that you can also turn your articles into videos and post them on YouTube and other video sites, and then embedding them in your blog.
Re: How should i promote a new website?
- One way links are the most important and valuable for a website and just a few quality one way links for site may boost ranking. Some different ways for getting one way links are:
1. Submit your site to major directories.
2. Submit articles to article directories.
3. Publish articles on your site and invite other sites to publish them on their sites, with a link to you.
4. Participate in forums which allow a text link to your site in a signature.
5. Get listed in business directories.
Re: Do bigger monitors save time?
- Hi Kevin,
Thanks for the welcome!
I would agree that two 17's would work well but really, any size would work. I'd be careful in going after the larger monitors that are traditional heights but are really wide, unless you have the desk space for it. Choose your monitors carefully as well to ensure that you try to find ones that have a small frame outside of the actual monitor screen. That way, when you put them together, the screens look a little more uniform.
Last tip for either multiple monitors or one large one... Speed your mouse motion up. If you don't, you'll spend forever scrolling from one screen to another or across a larger screen. It'll take a bit to get used to at first but after a few days, using a mouse with regular motion will seem painstakingly slow!

Hi Raye,
Thanks for the tips! But if choosing monitors with smaller frames outside of the actual screen space is important when using 2 monitors...then wouldn't using a laptop and a secondary monitor be a bad idea?
And are there any current monitor brands and models you would recommend? For instance, for the same price, should someone go for a slightly larger screen or a smaller one with Dell's "Ultrasharp" feature?
How To Add A Paypal Button To Blogger
- Hi Brendan,
The blog is looking good. If possible, try to post something on it every day. You can vary the length of the posts, just something short when time is tight.
There are two parts to getting the Paypal code on your site. First is getting the Paypal code! Second is getting it on your site!
HOW TO GET YOUR PAYPAL CODE
1. Log in to Paypal
2. Click Merchant Services
3. Find the Key Features box on the right and click Donations.
4. Donations Page 1: Fill in the fields with your Donation name and a ref no. (the latter is not necessary). Choose a "Donate" button - I suggest the one with the pic of the credit cards beneath. It is up to you whether you "encrypt" or not. As you do not have a website there is no need to go to "Donations Page 2" for "more options", so you can just click "Create Button Now".
5. On the new page, click "Select All" for the "HTML Code for Websites" box and copy and paste the code to your blog.
HOW TO GET YOUR PAYPAL DONATION BUTTON ON BLOGGER
1. Go to your Blogger.com dashboard.
2. Click the "Layout" tab.
3. Click "Add A Gadget"
4. Scroll down to HTML/JavaScript and click the + sign.
5. A small screen will pop up and you can PASTE your Paypal Donation Button code there and add a title if you wish.
6. Click SAVE on the small screen.
7. Now, back on the main screen you can preview and then SAVE.
If all has gone well, you should now have a Paypal Donation button on your blog.

Best wishes,
David H
