Don't be a Copy Cat You may end up in Court

copyright articles #1

Get your own name its easy its cheap and its your personal signature: Now lets say someone has the name Copy Cats and a website dedicated to that area you like it but have your own ideas well thats fine thats competition so just don't be a copy cat! Words that resemble a business are fine to use but not in a context that is so close someone cannot distinguish between the wording. So develop something else Copy Tigers close still in cat family but very different get it? Now do a search first and foremost go to any state website and do corporate look up if the name you want comes up forget it but they will give you some options Like Copy Tigers of State you live in but these people are the real legal rights to names professionals and if they will not issue you a certain name do not copy it simple its the LAW!!!
Now you have found a name go search the available domain name for it. If its really your thoughts it should be out there. best place is whois.com Again don't just pick a different type like .biz or .net thats asking for trouble be your own person it tells people who you are and what your about even if its the same business as the person who owns Copy Cats Copy Tiger is you getting this? Now I will give you my example and I have been doing this over 35 years.
The legal corporate name of my company is Investment Property Builders LLC now you notice the LLC your legal name always has to identify your company structure Corporation is Inc Limited Liability is LLC etc. I have been in both the Building and Real Estate Industry for over 35 years so this describes both get it? Now my website the name is way to long and by law no one can copy so I went to whois and got ipbco.com Here again problems can be expected I wanted ipb.com nut someone owned it and even though not in use refused to sell it at a reasonable price so I came up with ipbco which it is by law. Please note that during the dot com boom people bought names and initials by the hundreds of thousands and usually all the prefixes to go along with them .net .org etc just for the chance to resell later with big profits.
Names are very important and as the first step of Copyright Law you should pay close attention to what I and others have said but also the people you deal with. If you say join a social network and its very close in name to another say you belong for a year have a lot of friends then a copy issue gets in the way next thing you know its gone!So is all the work or time you have put in see if you would of known the Copy Cat rules you could of stooped it from the beginning or if they did not want to change it you could go else where. Now we got the name part out of the way lets get to the Rest of the Story!!! To do that please Join my group Econo Boost {Found in website listed in Bio} Which will deal with how to make Some good out of some bad and Boost your economic situation But lets do it Right and Hopefully we will show you how.
This will be the first in a series of articles about the right way to conduct yourself as a business or even if you want to do something for fun Social Networking you still have certain methods to comply with. The next Big issue we will deal with is Plagiarism very good one seeing the site this article is being posted on so stay around read all. Thanks
