3 Steps to Leveraging Your Business for Easy Growth

A business that cannot operate without the presence of its owner isn't being managed in the most efficient manner and cannot grow. Learning to leverage your business will allow you to grow your business. Below are 3 Steps to Leveraging your Business for Easy Growth.

Build a team: Taking the time to build a reliable team will allow you to focus your energy on the high payoff tasks. Delegate normal to low priority tasks to your team of employees or independent contractors.

If your business is operating on a limited budget, hire virtual assistants on an as-needed basis. Then once you have the steady revenue to hire someone on a more consistent basis, consider hiring a dedicated virtual assistant. It's all about leveraging your time: the sooner you can delegate, the sooner you can focus your energy on only high payoff tasks.

Action Step: Explore employee and virtual assistant resources. Good starting points are Elance.com or AssistU.com. Virtual assistants are ideal because they can be hired on an "as-needed" basis.

Charge a Fee: You can create a stream of passive income by adding a paid membership option to your website. If you're providing valuable information that will help readers make money or solve a problem in their lives, they'll have no problem paying a reasonable fee for access to your website.

If you have ideas for website content, but don't have the time to write it - hire a writer! A library of valuable articles and resources is the one the best ways to increase the perceived value of your site - and justify membership fees to clients. Add even more value to your website by adding niche web tools. For example, if your website is about real estate, add an online "rent vs. buy" calculator.

Establish incentives for annual membership fees paid in full and up-front. And if a client opts to pay on a monthly basis, that provides your business with consistent, monthly revenue.

Action Step: Most entrepreneurs fail to see the value in their information or think they must offer their information for free to attract new clients. Websites can be huge monetizers, if you employ two simple rules: 1) provide information your clients are looking for and 2) employ an element of scarcity.

Hire a reputable website optimizer or marketing expert from Elance.com to: 1) Research the market and find a demand point 2) Create content or information products to offer for free and for sale on your website 3) Track the results.

Create an Information Product: Creating information products is one of the easiest ways of making money for your business. You can create eBooks, CD's, DVD's, workbooks, and more.

Once your product is created, be sure to highlight it prominently on your website, like the landing page. Be clear about why someone should purchase your product by outlining the content, as well as listing the benefits the client will receive as a result of purchasing your product.

Action Step: Turn your knowledge into information. Keeping these points in mind, start writing down what you know and the strategies you employ to make it work to your advantage. If you don't want to write it, then buy an affordable voice recorder and record your thoughts. You can hire someone to transcribe that recording into a document that can be turned into a product.

If you're not sure about what to create, start asking your clients. What do they need? What are the biggest obstacles? When you know what your customers need, you can provide it - and they will buy it!

Re: e-Commerce and e-Payment providers Re: e-Commerce and e-Payment providers - When I came back to Japan in 1999 I sometimes used to ask my students if they would buy anything on the Internet and at that time most thought it was too risky. I'd encourage them to try by using well known sites such as Amazon.co.jp and also pointed out that using a credit card on a reputable site was safer than using it at a restaurant. I can't remember the last time I had that discussion or when the "tipping point" occurred in Japan. To answer your other question, I use Paypal for several reasons: 1. Brand familiarity 2. Easy to use 3. Free to withdraw 50,000yen+ to my Japanese bank account - a huge benefit (but maybe other systems also offer that...?) 4. Easy to cancel subscriptions On the down side, their transaction fees are quite costly, they are difficult to contact and when disputes arise you can sometimes lose even when you can prove via your tracking service that the disputed item was "delivered" to the customer's address!
