Real Life Isn't Boring! How to Live Life with No Regrets

Guest post by: Anne Bachrach

Article Overview: Life goes by so quickly - don't miss out on the extraordinary opportunities you have to live life without regret! Ask yourself this question, if you left this world tomorrow, would you feel as if you lived life to the fullest? While you can't turn back the clock and change past events, would you - if you had the power - change the way things are now? Perhaps you would change where you live, your financial status or improve your personal relationships. Maybe you would drive a different car, play more golf, travel, or be more physically fit.

Real Life Isn't Boring! How to Live Life with No Regrets

Life goes by so quickly - don't miss out on the extraordinary opportunities you have to live life without regret!

Let me ask you, what is real life supposed to be about? Work? Responsibility? Bills? More work? (You may be tempted to answer yes, but hold that thought.)

This is where most of us get it all wrong. Most of us were taught that being an adult is about being responsible, and life is not about having fun. You're supposed to have all your fun when you're a child, then "grow up" and live responsibly in the real world.

I challenge you to break that false perception. If you could live life exactly as you wanted, what would you change? Without even realizing it, you could probably come up with at least three things that would involve less work and more fun. Go ahead, try it.

If you could change three things in your life what would they be? For example:

1. Work less

2. Travel more

3. Spend more time with children

Now it's your turn...

1.

2.

3.

Next, write a specific reason for wanting to change these three things.

1. So I have more time to do the things I like to do: work on the house, go fishing, etc.

2. I'd like to explore the world and take romantic trips with my spouse.

3. Spending time with my children makes me feel good.

Your list...

1.

2.

3.

When you wrote down your reasons, did you notice that they probably have nothing to do with responsibility and boredom? The things that matter most to you - and the things that allow you to live life to the fullest - are always the things that make you feel good, whole, and blissful.

Take stock of the life you live now and the life you would like to live, and start moving in that direction. Here's how you get started:

1. Make a list of 100 Things You'd Like to Do Before Life's End

2. From your list of 100 Things You'd Like to Do, Make a list of 10 (or more) Long-Term Goals (5 to 20+ years)

Now put them in priority order with those most important at the top of the list. Once you begin accomplishing your goals, cross them off and add new ones.

3. Make a list of 10 (or more) Short-Term Goals (1 day to 3 years)

Break down the long-term goals into smaller steps that can be achieved now or in the near future. Remember to prioritize your list. Once you begin accomplishing your goals, cross them off and add new ones.

Your short-term goals should encompass easy actions that you can begin taking today. Some steps may require only a few hours, while others will require one week, six months, or longer. Start with the short-term goals that are the easiest to complete.

Create the kind of life you truly want and one with no or fewer regrets.

The Second Life Platform The Second Life Platform - Greetings! I'm not sure how many of you have heard of or are sensitive to Second Life and its related entities. However, Second Life is a fantastic platform to mimmick real life business operations in a real currency based economy. There are plenty of successful stories for creative individuals, but I'd highly suggest doing your research and appreciating Second Life for what it is, and what it isn't.

Re: Charge what you're worth Re: Charge what you're worth - [quote="Tami Szabo":292ze3jd]People will pay you what you ask. Very few will ever up the price. You are the one who decided what you are worth. The key is that we believe our services are worth the price we are asking.[/quote:292ze3jd] Hi Tami, You're absolutely right. In "Think and Grow Rich", Jessie B. Rittenhouse says "For Life is a just employer, He gives you what you ask, But once you have set the wages, Why, you must bear the task. I worked for a menial's hire Only to learn, dismayed , That any wage I had asked of Life, Life would have willingly paid" (Napoleon Hill 35). I think the same can be said when setting prices on eBay or Craigslist, especially when people are trying to haggle you.

He spends all his life having his hopes and dreams shattered, feeling miserable, and its only at the end of his life that he can look back and realize how many friends he has, etc. But that doesn't change the fact that up until that point he was miserable![/quote:1rxsgr0t] I love the sentimentality around watching that movie with your Mom! Chtistmas is made up of all those sentimental things. "It's A Wonderful Life" is all about perspective, much in the same way that Scrooge is 'realigned' in Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol" - which I listen to on CD every year (sometimes twice!) Happy Christmas Everyone! Regards Martin
