Have You Got The Symptoms?
Have you got the symptoms?
Hello, I'm David Oliver of Love Work Live Life
According to experts these are some of the symptoms of a major epidemic affecting many adults in Britain
- Fatigue
- Skin problems
- Dry mouth
- Muscle tension
- Disturbed sleeping patterns
- Loss of appetite
- Poor memory and concentration
- Constant anxiety
- Mood swings
- Negative self-image
- Reacting to trivial problems as if they were major ones
- Inability to make minor decisions
The epidemic is, of course, stress. Many people are struggling to cope with work and homelife. Everything seems too much. Small amounts of stress (depending on your own definition) can be very productive. I have a friend who is always his most productive just before a deadline. Having some of these symptoms is completely normal.
But I've been through times when the lifestyle sickness has really got to me. I've been weighed down with all 12 symptoms, sick of life, feeling like there's no way out. These are the times I have gone for help - counseling, coaching or just sharing with a trusted friend.
If that describes you today - let me remove your doubt and encourage you to go and talk to someone you trust a friend or trusted adviser or counsellor. It's not failure or weakness. It's the best thing to do.
