Being humans we have all done things we are not proud of. As a direct result of this we feel shame, stupidity and profoundly sorrowful. We don't know how to get pass this point. We feel there is no one to share this information with because there would be disappointment. That disappointment is not bearable. How to get pass this point in life?

You must forgive yourself. Like most things it is simple, not easy but well worth the effort. Here are some tips to think about.

1.When you committed the act were you acting with the best information you had at the time. If this is true, acknowledge your mistake, apologize to the other person and ask for their forgiveness.

2.Did you deliberately intend to cause injury to another person? If so there may be a character defect that requires work on your behalf to correct. If this is true, get professional help.

3. Take responsibility for your choices. Trying to defend what you did could be empty. When you admit you made a bad decision you are learning lessons from this experience. The chances of repeating the mistake is minimal. As a result of this you become stronger because of what you lived through.

4.We hold ourselves more accountable than we do others. This part of our belief system. Now is the time to ask you an honest question? Why do I think I should not be allowed to make a mistake when I can forgive others for the mistakes they make. Be brutally honest when answering this question of you. The answer might surprise you.

5. The past is gone. The present moment is all you have. If you cannot forgive yourself for a past failure you are constantly thinking about it, reliving it and keeping it alive. This moment is perfect, take a deep breath, and accept that you are human.

Forgiving others can be easy if you can forgive yourself for the mistakes you make. Here are a few points to ponder. Forgiving the person that has done you an injustice allows you to move forward with your life. Alan Paton says, "When a deep injury is done to us, we never recover until we forgive."

1.Realize that your distress comes from hurt feelings and thoughts. These actions could have happened yesterday or 25 years ago. If you have not forgiven the person who committed the act you are still feeling the result of those actions today. This means you are stuck in the past.

2.Forgiveness does not mean you think the person does not have to pay for what they did to you or that you are letting them off the hook, your forgiving them allows you to move forward with your life. If you do not forgive it is like taking small doses of poison each time you relive the event. The event will destroy you not the person who perpetrated it upon you.

3.Forgiving another is not a gift you give to them it is a wonderful gift you give to yourself. Ask yourself how much of your life's time and energy do I intend to devote to this matter. If you decide not another moment then.... it is done. When it pops in your head replace that thought with pleasant thought. Decide to wish that person well and release it.

Robert Fuller said this: " Forgiveness is the highest most beautiful for of love, in return you will receive untold peace and happiness."

You have a choice. If you do not choose forgiveness there are serious consequences for you. You hold onto hurt feelings, resentment, and anger betrayal and most important the chances of a serious illness as a result of these negative pent up emotions is very real.

Take your power back. Make peace with anyone who has done you wrong. Love partners, children, parents, siblings, friends, your boss or anyone else. It may not be easy but the rewards have a profound and long lasting positive effect on your life.

Re-introduction Re-introduction - Hello, Some of you know me and some of you don't. I've been gone for about 2 months, had some pretty serious health issues pop up.. but i'm stubborn so here i am back again. Thought i'd do a re-introduction. I'm Jen. I own/run my own graphic design firm. I also do business coaching on the side. How's everyone? Good too see that this forum has been growing while i've been away. Missed you all! Hope you'll all forgive me for being away.
Revenue Streams for Websites Revenue Streams for Websites - First of all forgive me because I am really a newbie when it comes to online businesses. I have been playing with the idea of creating my own website. Basically, I am looking to create a content based website with revenue generated through advertising. (The content is still somewhat undecided as I am debating between a couple of ideas). My question is; what specifically, are the different and best ways that a content based website can generate revenue? Thanks Darren
Too Successful for Marriage? Too Successful for Marriage? - Hey Everyone! This is one of my favourite topics so forgive me if I rant... There is a huge piece missing in all of these discussions and that is, what are the men doing/going to do differently? The focus is always on the women and how we have created this but in reality in the men who have become obsessively insecure about 'their' roles in the relationship, etc. Perhaps if there were more education or relationship coaching for men, it would help. Right now, the majority of information is focussed on the women. Men clearly dont know what is 'expected' of them anymore. These arent our fathers times. There was an article in Men's Health last year which was actually promoting the fact that men can relax a bit and be 'taken care' of by their successful wives and girlfriends. Give me a break - if I was single and I wanted to take care of something, or some-one it would be my business or my dog. Men these days seem to have lost all THEIR Ambition and drive. If they, the men, could catch up with the women in self esteem, empowerment etc., we'd all be much better off. I think women, while wanting a relationship, are doing the right thing in remaining single until they find a confident and self secure partner. I dont think women are looking to be the BREADWINNER all the time, but we shouldnt get punished by it. J

I can suggest a couple of ways to make money using the website but I feel that at the moment you should focus more on the content that your website is supposed to have rather than on how to make money. If the content is good and you can retain the interests of the visitors this will keep them coming back to you. Many websites die very early on the Internet as they have too many things on mind. Remember, slow and steady wins the race. It’s the same rule out here too. Focus on one thing at a time, build a brand and add value to the site. Money will roll in once you have sustained competition.

I think we need to look at ourselves first, but then the next step is to look at how we are "being" with the men in our lives. Are we setting up boundaries and educating them on how to treat us properly? We can't change the men, but we CAN change how we deal with them. I do know that some gentle persistence can help... my husband has learned how to have personal growth discussions with me on subjects that would have had him running the other direction a 100 miles an hour in the past! What's the secret? I've modelled to him what personal development does. He might not like that my boundaries aren't easy to push over anymore, but it made him sit up and take note. After some time, he started asking more questions. Since most men aren't into personal development, we can certainly train them how to be with us in the areas that matter most. If I were single and dating someone who wasn't willing to compromise or see me as an equal partner, I wouldn't consider that person marriage material anyway. (Fortunately, there really are some good guys still out there.) Notice I said, "equal" partner above. Some women I know swing into the whole "control" factor and disrespect the man as well. That's also a recipe for disaster. She shouldn't be surprised if she can't find a partner when she's not willing to be a true partner herself. Take care, Tami
