Get into the action habit .

After you have read this short article how will you feel about your habits? Are you a do it now person? There is a shortage of leaders who have the ability to get things done, to get results. Most people procrastinate much to often.

When you study both groups of people successful and average you will learn that successful people are active and average people are passive and procrastinate duties until another day. The successful person takes action, will follow through on ideas and gets things done. The average person will delay and find excuse why he can't.

If you are an action person this article is not for your. On the other hand if you are an individual who put off until tomorrow or the day after, this article has some helpful points to help you get a start. A start is a beginning and this is all it takes to shake loose.

University of Calgary professor Piers Steel states "In 1978, only about 5 percent of the American public thought of themselves as chronic procrastinators. Now it's 26 percent."

There are so many ways to kill our valuable time. TV, internet, cell phones, iPods and Blackberries. It is contagious. Remember this. Time is the oneprecious thing we cannot replace. Once it is passed or wasted you can never recover it.

Some procrasticate by over thinking a task and not stepping through it.

These action or non-action habits flow through all areas of ones life. The successful person or person of action gets things done and in the process gains self-confidence and more income. The person who doesn't get things done loses self-confidence in himself and lives a mediocre life.

Here are some ways to get into the action habit:

  1. Do unpleasant talks first. When completed you will be proud of yourself.
  2. If you have a big job ahead, break it off into small pieces and get to work.
  3. We all have to do things we would prefer not. Fake it and do it anyway. You will soon realize that it is not as bad as you thought. When I was in college one of my requires subjects was physics. If I had to read a chapter I would pretend it was the most exciting book I had ever read and soon I was really into it. Try it. It works.
  4. If you can't make up your mind about a task or idea try this. Before going to sleep ask your subconscious the question. When you get the answer follow through. Take a risk. Set a deadline.
  5. Honor the fact that you are not perfect. Do your best and this is enough. If you wait for perfection you will never get started.
  6. If you are starting a new venture, expect obstacles, and difficulties. Every venture present risks and uncertainty.
Think in terms of now to get things accomplished. Thinking in terms of sometime or someday usually means failure.

John Wanamaker said "Nothing comes merely by thinking about it."

Finally "People who procrastinate tend to be less healthy, less wealthy and less happy," according to University of Calgary professor Piers Steel.

HABIT:... The Helper of Entrepreneur HABIT:... The Helper of Entrepreneur - I was thinking about a friend of mine who lost his business due to untame habit. Like I used to tell him that habit forms your habitant. The secret to your future lies in your daily habits so ask yourself right now, "Are my habits today going to help me achieve my goals in life?" This is a life-empowering question so be honest with yourself in determining your answer. I got this qoute online when I was researching more on habit the author is not known. I am your constant companion. I am your greatest helper or your heaviest burden. I will push you onward or drag you down to failure. I am completely at your command. Half the things you do, you might just as well turn over to me, and I will be able to do them quickly and correctly. I am easily managed; you must merely be firm with me. Show me exactly how you want something done, and after a few lessons I will do it automatically. I am the servant of all great men. And, alas, of all failures as well. Those who are great, I have made great. Those who are failures, I have made failures. I am not a machine, though I work with all the precision of a machine. Plus, the intelligence of a man. You may run me for profit, or run me for ruin; it makes no difference to me. Take me, train me, be firm with me and I will put the world at your feet. Be easy with me, and I will destroy you. Who am I? I am a HABIT! - Author Unknown My question is what do you think you need to change in your habit as an entrepreneur?
Re: Quote of the Day - "Don't sit down and wait for the opportun Re: Quote of the Day - "Don't sit down and wait for the opportun - Opportunity is definitely an action term. Even when we realize a great opportunity, nothing happens unless we take action.
Re: Best way to start a business? Re: Best way to start a business? - It really just comes down to decision, action and persistence. You can spend a lifetime thinking about doing something, and researching it, to decide if it is the right action to take. Or you can make a decision about something you want to achieve, take action and be persistent. Make a plan of action, and adjust it as you learn more. An online business is something you should jump into straight away. The time it takes to start a new website is minutes, so there is not much of a barrier to entry for you to start a basic website and learn. Obviously if your idea was more specific like starting a review comparison site for laptops then your action would be trying out and comparing different review platforms, classifying laptops etc. But you would still take action and dive right in. If it was an offline business then it would likely mean even more preparation. Say you wanted to start a wine shop, which would eventually become a chain, you would start by taking action and learning as much about wine as possible, networking with people in the industry and generally working to become a win expert, and research locations for your first wine shop. In each situation you make a decision about what you want to do, act on that decision following a rough plan which you adjust along the way, and be persistent in working to achieve what you laid out in your original decision.
Re: I failed woefully in 2011 Re: I failed woefully in 2011 - Yinka, My favorite advice for taking action comes from Tony Robbins: “A real decision is measured by the fact that you’ve taken a new action. If there’s no action, you haven’t truly decided… The most important thing you can do to achieve your goals is to make sure that as soon as you set them, you immediately begin to create momentum. The most important rules that I ever adopted to help me in achieving my goals were those I learned from a very successful man who taught me to first write down the goal, and then to never leave the site of setting a goal without first taking some form of positive action toward its attainment.” If you've truly decided to make 2012 a successful year for you, don't wait until Sunday. Start today, even if it's a small step. Good luck!
Re: Marketing and PR ideas related to a Credit Organization Re: Marketing and PR ideas related to a Credit Organization - Hello GT Bulmer! I will answer your questions with great pleasure. As we use face to face marketing, our credit agents meet our customers very often, so it isn't problem to inform them about any action or meeting and stir them to come to the meeting area. And what about visual aids- i think i don't need to use them. Because in my opinion presentation will not be interesting for them at all. I think we have to organize a concert (or an interesting action) for them, to give some prizes, to make them have a wonderful time, but do it in such an original way which will make them to remember our organization and to become very loyal to our services. That is why now my aim is to invent such an original action which will be possible in villages. Thank you very much for feedback!
