To What Extent are “Purity and Integrity” Important to Your Mental Health and Spiritual Life? (Part One)

Definition of Service: To exert one's self continuously for the benefit of another

Impact Quote: John 13:17: "Now that you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them."

Una Palabra de Impacto: Juan 13:17 (Reina-Valera 1995) "Si sabéis estas cosas, bienaventurados sois si las hacéis."

Extended Reading Opportunity: John 13:1-20, Juan 13:1-20

Takeaway: To what extent is the above quote meaningful to you? How can it help kickstart "acts of service / kindness?"

I submit to you my "Top 10 Ideas about Servanthood." I challenge you to:

1) Choose two that are meaningful to you (and why),

2) Write them down,

3) Share them with someone; and 4) Contact me with more ideas!

10. Service implies neither lots of ego nor being self-involved

9. Practicing servanthood is like working a muscle - cultivate it! It's also like a gift you receive (perhaps a talent to sing, dance, act, write and draw) - master your craft, practice your passion and stir up the gift within you!

8. The more you serve, the more natural it feels!

7. To profess love to; to minister to - Poner tu amor como un suéter (put on love - like a sweater!)

6. To serve the Creator in obedience and worship

5. To find where the needs are and then fill that need

4. To help someone's spiritual thirst be more satisfied

3. To promote perfect & unconditional love in your life

2. To discharge the requirements of your role as a faith-based person

1. To be used favorably by the Creator

What two resonated / rang true with YOU?

Be sure to write it, share it and proclaim it!

Think about how you can put one into action this week!

The Second Life Platform The Second Life Platform - Greetings! I'm not sure how many of you have heard of or are sensitive to Second Life and its related entities. However, Second Life is a fantastic platform to mimmick real life business operations in a real currency based economy. There are plenty of successful stories for creative individuals, but I'd highly suggest doing your research and appreciating Second Life for what it is, and what it isn't.
Re: What works for you? Re: What works for you? - Hi Yinka, I work better under pressure of deadlines when I am doing something for other people. However, I like to have the leisure to develop my own projects. The first case is what Stephen Covey calls a "Quadrant 1" activity ("Important and urgent") whereas the second case is a "Quadrant 2" activity ("Important, not urgent"). We should aim to make as much time as possible for Q2 activities so that we can develop our own projects. Easier said than done!

Re: Charge what you're worth Re: Charge what you're worth - [quote="Tami Szabo":292ze3jd]People will pay you what you ask. Very few will ever up the price. You are the one who decided what you are worth. The key is that we believe our services are worth the price we are asking.[/quote:292ze3jd] Hi Tami, You're absolutely right. In "Think and Grow Rich", Jessie B. Rittenhouse says "For Life is a just employer, He gives you what you ask, But once you have set the wages, Why, you must bear the task. I worked for a menial's hire Only to learn, dismayed , That any wage I had asked of Life, Life would have willingly paid" (Napoleon Hill 35). I think the same can be said when setting prices on eBay or Craigslist, especially when people are trying to haggle you.
