Renew Your Relationships this Spring: 4 Tips for Recapturing Love & Romance

Spring is a time for renewal. During the hum-drum, dark, cold days of winter, we can often lose focus of what’s important in our lives. And this can take a toll on our relationship.

As we all know (but don’t always practice) our relationships are not readily disposable (or at least they shouldn’t be). So why not renew your relationship as you leave the cold winter behind and prepare for the joys of spring? There are many ways to recapture love and romance that might have cooled off over the long winter. Here are four ways to bring back that loving feeling:

1. Prioritize your relationship.

Our intimate relationship should be our number one priority, but oftentimes it takes a back burner to kids, work and myriad of other things. Remember that happiness in life begins with our relationships, and your romantic relationship with your significant other MUST be made a priority or it will fade in love & intimacy. Make your relationship a priority and put it at the top of your list today – where it deserves to be – to ensure that it is there tomorrow.

2. Create shared visions based upon common goals

When you create your personal goals for what you want in the future, do you include your significant other? We often forget to share these goals with our partner, and this could be a catastrophe. When you think about what you want for yourself and your career, you must also create shared visions and goals for your relationship. Communicate and then strategize with your partner your vision and goals for your relationship: it will keep you connected and prevent you from the proverbially “drifting” or “growing” apart from each other.

3. Create new hobbies and activities to enjoy together.

Keep your relationship feeling exciting and alive with new activities you can enjoy together. If you always wanted to take a cooking class, do so with your partner! Or plan and take that exotic vacation you keep putting off “until next year” – year after year. New activities and hobbies keep your relationship from silently slipping into the same old dull routine – also known as a rut. And nothing makes a relationship feel more old and tired than a rut does.

4. Be creative sexually and share your sexual fantasies.

Sharing and acting on your sexual fantasies allows you to keep your sexual relationship fresh and vibrant. Even couples that have a healthy active sex life need to spice it up once in a while. If you feel uncomfortable verbalizing your sexual fantasies with your partner, write them a note or send them a text or an email with your thoughts. Let them know it is a little awkward for you to share this information verbally and ask them to be sensitive with the information you are providing them with.

These relationship tips are virtually guaranteed to recapture love and intimacy to make and make you ready to spring into spring and everything it holds!
