New Video – How to Promote Your Business like P.T. Barnum
It’s been a while since my last Modeling the Masters video but I recently created a new video and would love your feedback on it. This time the video focuses on how you can promote your business like P.T. Barnum, one of the greatest promoters of all time.
Phineas Taylor Barnum (July 5, 1810 – April 7, 1891) was an American showman, businessman, and entertainer. Above all else, P.T. Barnum was a salesman and promoter who knew how to get people talking.
Today, the legacy of his work lives on in the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus, still billed as ‘The Greatest Show on Earth.’
Some of the key points I talk about in the video are:

I thought the final winner was a wonderful choice. It caught my attention. I liked all of the designs, but I think this one was the best. I enjoyed the article. This seems like a great company that I could use.
This video is a great guideline about how to promote your business. I appreciate Mr. Barnum and the author of this post. Hats off to them for a post like this.

The best advice for starting a new business is to have a unique idea. Then sell the idea with a lot of advertisements. Then also hype it. These are golden strategies.

That’s a very nice video you put together. I haven’t had the chance to get too many videos out (a lot less than I’d like), but videos are definitely something I want to focus more time on in the future. Aside from using videos to promote my business (I have some now), I’m using social media, blogging, and content marketing to drive targeted traffic to my site. I’d like to expand into offering what I do as a service to others who don’t have the time or knowledge to do it themselves. So, we’ll see how that goes.
It was a good piece of work, nice video for beginners. I liked the showcasing part of it. But I have doubts like, if we do more advertisements that will affect our profit, that too especially at the beginning of the business. Is there any video of yours that might tell us how to manage cost?

Great work, Evan. In a down economy such as this one, promotion and marketing are more critical than ever. During recessions, too many businesses cut expenses alphabetically (e.g., advertising), which is the opposite of what they should do. I thought you made an excellent point about the better product not necessarily leading to better sales. Sales and marketing has been, and always will be, more about perceived value than actual value. Keep up the good work.

Great video. My question is how to get people to make a purchase in this down economy. The only thing I feel I can do is to market a product that cost very little but will generate only a small profit.
